| Clippers question for Self Groomers Okay all you professional or self-groomers, I have spent LOTS of money on different clippers and had the same problem with all of them. Here is my question..... When I put an attatchement on my clipper, it doesn't cut hair. This has been true with all the different clippers I have bought (all pretty cheap.) Is it because the clippers weren't good enough quality? I don't want to invest in an Andis, only to have the same thing happen. Has anyone else had this problem?

| I have had this problem with the cheaper clippers like the ones at Walmart. I bought a Golden A 5 two speed 25 years ago and have never had problems excepth when the blades were dull and need sharpening. That clipper is still running!! I have bought another as well to trade off when the first one gets hot to my hand. That and my grooming table have been my best investments. I have not used an Andis, but heard they are just as nice as the Golden A 5. Also, dont forget to use Cool Lube on the blades while you are clipping. |

| I would say buy the best pair you can afford. Im not going to suggest what I use (kim laube) because they cost about 200 dollars but Im a professional groomer and am grooming alot more dogs then you will be. My friend grooms at home and swears by the oster A5 clippers

You also have to have the right blade underneath the comb attachments. I tried the #10 blade it came with and had a hard time until I found out you need at least a #30 blade, even better a #40, to get a good cut with combs. | |

| I just got mine in the mail today. I ordered the andis kit on amazon for $79 you get and instant rebate of $20 and I had a gift cert. plus free shipping. My question is how do I know what comb attachment to use? When it say 1/2 is that the amount of hair to be cut or what is left? Also what is the diffence between the blade sizes. As far as the clippers go they are pretty nice and they are quiet. |
