| HELP!! I am new and need Yorkie advise! Hi everyone! GREAT SITE, GRETA PEOPLE! Well, I a getting my first ever baby this weekend and she is absolutely adorable!! She is 7 weeks now and I cant wait to see her! Anyway. Just VERY curious. How long does it take for them to get long hair? DO you ever cut the hair around the face? I will obviously rather take her in to have her groomed and it is still quite a while away, but i just want to know what to expect! Any advise to frst time Yorkie owner will be great! Tahnk you so much!! |

| Welcome to YT!! and Congrats on the new baby you are awaiting,, as for our Yorkies,, they're all different,, in coats growing at various progress,, some need trimming often,, others can be months and months and months without a trim

| Welcome to YorkieTalk Seven or eight weeks is really too young to bring a Yorkie pup home. Please watch her very closely for hypoglycemia at this age. I cut Ellie's hair myself. Groomers don't need a license to cut hair, so some don't know what they are doing. I would also be concerned about abuse and neglect if I left my dog at a grooming salon unattended. There are some good ones though. It is just easier for me to do it myself.
