| I must have bought 8 combs and brushes before I bought a slicker, that slicker is the best thing I've ever bought also....it's great for working mats out....glad you discovered yours.lol

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I hear ya!! The groomer I took Cali to last time (great) thinned her out and told me to get a certain slicker brush and matt splitter and Cali hasn't had matts since. I aways thought it would ruin their coat. I'm sure on show dogs it is different but it has made grooming Cali a breeze. Pixie has a silky coat so I don't use it on her , Just a comb.

| Is there a correct and an incorrect way to the slicker brush, cause both my Schnauzer and now my Yorkie hates it. They act like it is hurting. I don't want to do that. Do you all just find a knot and only use it on that are do you brush the whole body? |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | My groomer told me the only one she uses is made in Germany and it says Brosse and Bursete and I think it is by Universal.

| I'm confused now. (again ) I thought slicker brushes were not good for their hair? I know that A1 products and I believe Chris Christensen has some slicker brushes. Theirs would probably be more gentle on the skin. The slicker brushed I've seen in stores hurt like crazy when I put them on my skin! So, are they good for the coat or not??? |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | That's what I thought that you never use one on a Yorkie, but the groomer did and CAli looked great. I woul dnot use it on a silky coated one and I do't think show groomers use them, I could be wrong though. But is sure helps with Cali's coat.

| i have a CC slicker MachI and we love it, had a diffrent one first and Rosi hated it. Now she dont mind, exept in her face area i have to use a comb or else she will not hold still, she has a cottoncoat and it was a nightmare. Now it feels like silk since she grown up !

| slicker A slicker brush is okay for a coat you do not want to grow or preserve. They tear and break the hair, but for a pet it looks just fine...gets mats out...I used a mat splitter on most soft coats I used to groomed... |
