| Vet said Vitalife dried chicken, duck & sweet potato killed my dog Dog Owners, Lovers: I believe that every great sadness can be used as a learning experience for others, so I would like to share our story with you (please share with others). My dads beautiful almost two year old bull dog died on Fri May 10th, 2013. She was perfectly fine two days before and one day before began to show signs of discomfort. He took her to the vet, where they took blood work. Our dog was in complete Kidney failure! What? How? Why? She is barely 2 years old. Very healthy! The Vet asked one question: do you feed your dog chicken strips from china? Not to his knowledge... but he does feed her the vitalife chicken strips. They claim to be made in Thailand, They stress how HEATHY they are. They say 'made with love'. The vet is 100% sure that this is the cause of the kidney decline and said vets all over the world are seeing this every single day!!! What??? Why are they still able to sell this dog killing stuff? Why is this product and similar products in every single pet store I've ever been in? I don't know! My request to you is: Please do NOT feed this product, any chicken strips or any vitalife products to your dogs EVER again! This did not just only happen to our dog but after much research these past 24 hrs I've learned this is VERY common. There are NO symptoms in most cases until it is too late. These chicken strips are killing dogs! For anybody that isn't convinced yet... pls google it for yourself and you will find hundreds of websites talking about this topic and thousands of dead dogs. | I’m so sorry for the loss of your Dad’s bulldog. It is very sad these companies can produce and sell treats that make our family pets sick and some pass on. It is a shame. Thank you for sharing your story. It is really important that we spread the word!

| I am so sorry for your loss. Heartbreaking But I appreciate you spreading the word to inform others of this horrible thing. It makes me angry & blows my mind that products that are known to kill dogs are still on the shelves in stores.. so many customers would never know, and think they are buying a perfectly good treat. So sad. |

| Home made cookie treats to the rescue ! This is a heartbreaking tale for sure! After watching a documentary on Canadian Television (CBC) called *Marketplace* on this very subject I immediately threw out ALL purchased treats and started baking my wee Rosie treats - a simple recipe ......... Peanut Butter and Pumpkin Dog Treats 2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour 2 eggs 1/2 cup canned pumpkin\2 tbsp. peanut butter 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon Mix well, roll out 1/2" thick, cut - place on baking pan and bake at 350 for 40 minutes or so until they are very hard to the touch. NOTE: I mix the dough, place on the cookie sheet, roll out and cut with my pizza cutter (Rosie doesn't care that they aren't bone shape .... LoL !!!! and then bake. Rosie's Momma |

| I lost my Zoey over a year ago to renal failure from Tainted jerky treats too! I had no idea at the time they were made in china! Nestle actually owns the company so I will never buy another Nestle Purina product. The same goes for DelMonte who also made tainted dog treats!

| So sorry for your loss! Wow! So sorry to hear of your loss. I'm very careful what I feed my little guys especially treats. I have 2 best friends in my house. Buddy is my 17 year old miniature poodle and Cooper is my little yorkie. I'd be so lost without them. |

| Just read your post. Thanks sooo much for putting the info out there. Who would have known that these seemingly healthy treats would cause this much grief. It is appaulling!!! Sorry for all that you went through |
