Yorkie Neuter in NYC Hello All, My yorkie puppy is 6 months and I am ready to have him neutered... my vet is great, but incredibly expensive for the surgery. Has anyone taken their puppy anywhere in nyc that is cheaper? The humane society is only $43, but I ofcourse want to make sure my baby is well taken care of during the surgery... Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, Let me know how you make out. I am wondering the same thing. I am in Forest Hills. My vet is as well. Mickey is no where near ready to be neutered, but I am wondering about the cost- I have been hearing anywhere from $75-$300. How much does your vet charge? I have an appt Friday evening to get Mickey's last set of puppy shots- I will ask how much he charges and let you know.

The NYC Humane Society does the surgery with all included (anesthesia, blood work, medication, overnight stay, etc) for $43.00. They are quite busy and you have to book surgery 6 weeks in advance. I am taking Louie in May! Mollie

| Have-A-Heart? There's something called Have-A-Heart located in midtown but I can't remember the exact info. My friend took her Yorkie to work and they picked her up in the morning and then dropped her off around quitting time. They're really inexpensive too like $40. For the darnedest reason I can't seem to find that info!

I took Isabelle to the Humane Society and everything turned out fine. She had to stay overnight and that made me pretty anxious. I didn't want her to wake up in a strange place. But things turned out well. They took good care of her. The only bad thing is making the appointment. I was on hold for 45 minutes!!
