I'm sorry and annoyed that we didn't make the meet up on Sat afternoon at Centennial Park when I was sooooo looking forward to being there and meeting all of you and having my gang make new friends. Here's why we weren't there.......At 1:00 pm Saturday, I had the dogs all groomed pretty, had my play bag packed with toys and treats, water bottle filled, stroller in car, and camera charged. I had ordered Merricks puppy food from Jakes in the Deptford Mall and made the disasterous decision to pick up the food on the way to the park. We arrived at the mall about 1:15 pm, I got Bentley and Cha Cha in the stroller and put Sherman in his little bag. We walked through the mall, yes people stared and some laughed, but I acted like this was completely normal! When we got to Jakes Dog House and that's when the "fun" began. When I first walked in the store a saleswoman and a salesman came up to me and tried to sell me a bigger stroller to fit all 3 dogs. While they were doing their sales pitch, a disabled woman, I think cerebral palsy (my son has CP so I'm familiar with it) immediately approached me and started talking really loudly to the dogs. I had no problem with this except that she stuck her hand inside of Sherman's bag and grabbed him and he started to yelp like he was hurt. I was struggling to get her hand away and see if Sherman was ok, when Bentley just went crazy and burst out of the stroller which by the way was zipped up and he went after the poor woman. It was awful. Finally, the saleswoman came over to offer assistance and guided the disabled woman away who she called by name. I was trying to calm 2 dogs, get the preordered prepaid puppy food I had gone there to get and leave, BUT they kept trying to convince me to buy a stroller and new toys for the dogs. I finally just left carrying Bentley and Sherman and pushing ChaCha in the stroller. The salesman walked me out with the food. By the time we got to the car Bentley was throwing up all over himself and me. Sherman was shaking and it was his first trip out except for the vet and the ride home. So needless to say we came home instead of going to the park. Incidentally, ChaCha who is my ornery one, was well behaved all dressed up in her pretty dress until she got thrown up on. Bentley threw up the whole way home in his carseat and all over the back seat and I spent the afternoon cleaning my car.

I think I won't be going back to Jakes in Deptford. I know it wasn't their fault, but I was so annoyed at the sales people for being so aggressive in selling their products and not recognizing a woman and her 3 dogs in distress!

So how was the meetup?

i just rechecked the thread the meetup is 9/16 , 2pm, centennial park voorhees. you didn't miss it.

don't forget about woofest the same day in voorhees. maybe you got the date confused with the canine cruise this past wekend.

I would have been like "where is everybody?" Oh well, thank goodness I didn't miss it!

Oh, my, what a nightmare you had at that store!

I hope everyone is well now and you get to go to the meet-up Sat and have some fun. You deserve it!

Everyone is fine now, I think Bentley was just so worked up trying to "protect" the puppy and he's not aggressive at all. I just felt really bad for the woman who probably just wanted to pet a dog and ended up in the middle of a fiasco.

Yes we'll be there Saturday. We can't wait and I won't be stopping anywhere else on the way to the park!

What a nightmare! Glad everyone is okay now. You are more brave than I, I think I'd rather die than take 3 dogs into a mall with me..lol then again I hate malls!

OMG!!!
I try and avoid Jakes, the sales people are really annoying. I had to walk out and bite my tounge the last time I was there. One of the sales people had some kind of poo mix and were talking about how they are all the rage this new breed of dog and will be AKC really soon. Once I get started on that kick I tend to say things that arent really nice. People really need to be educated.
Wow Bentley go after someone, he must really love his little brother.
