Dog Beach In BROOKLYN!!

For all you Brooklyn dog lovers who drive hours to a dog beach for your babies, drive far no more!! There's a beach in BROOKLYN!

I take my babies to Floyd Bennett Field. Actually, I've been taking them there since I got them but I dunno why I never posted about it. Sorry.

Now it isn't actually called a "dog beach." But there is no swimming at this beach, no life gaurd and no one has EVER EVER told me to leave. I have been to this beach about 60 times since I've had my babies these past 2 years. And my dad use to take his German Shepherd to this beach before he passed away. My dad also is a member of the Model Airplane club and usually flys his planes there almost every weekend. He flys the planes and Jim and I take the dogs to the beach. It's just great! We usually bring a table and chairs (although they have tables there) but we bring our own. And we bring an umbrella and lunch. It's just a lot of fun and a great place to bring the pooches!

I'd highly recommend this place to anyone in Brooklyn!!

thanks jen, that good to know... i also take lexi to the beach mainly
every nice night when i get home from work,, have to wait until after
6pm when the lifeguards go home...i live only 1 small block from the beach.
next time i will take pictures. lexi just loves it, she feels so free... and now
she listens so i dont mine taking her

1 block from the beach? WOW, that's awesome! I wish I live 1 block from the beach ... if I did, I'd be there with my pooches every night! I usually only take mine on the weekend but I do have a baby pool on my patio and 1 in my dad's yard for my babies to use during the week.

i live about 6 blocks from the beach we take austin there every night
they dont allow them on the sand in the afternoon but in the evening they dont mind
great to know there another we can go to in the day

I heard about that dog beach. I'm glad you posted. We live in Staten Island, a few blocks from South Beach, and we take Oliver there all the time. We also take him to the dog run at Silver Lake Park, and also the one at Wolfe's Pond Park. He just loves running around with the other dogs. He has so much fun, and is exhausted when he gets home. lol. We were looking for another dog friendly place to take him. We're just over the bridge to Brooklyn, so the dog beach sounds great. We'll have to check it out.

This beach is great because you can go during the day and spend the whole day there. It's so much fun ... we pack lunch, bring chairs and a table, bring frisbees and my dad's flys his model airplane. It's just a great place!
