Yorkie Day in NYC - Sept. 14! - YorkieTalk.com Forums

Hi everyone! I posted this in the main forum, but wanted to add a separate post in the NYC regional forum since this is a NYC event. I want to invite everyone to an awesome and free event I am hosting in New York City. We are trying to get the largest ever gathering of yorkies all in one spot! I believe NYC probably has more yorkies than any other city, so we think this is definitely possible. We are hosting Yorkie Day on September 14, 2013 in Central Park and we will have contests, giveaways, advice, vendors, and tons of other fun stuff. Best of all, we will be taking a large group photo so we can show off the HUGE number of yorkies we have in one place!

Check out our website at yorkieday.com. Please register today if you are planning on coming so we can plan an even better event by knowing how many people and yorkies will be there. Invite your yorkie friends! Hope to see and meet you all on September 14!

I have a 2 Yorkies & a Yorkshire Terrier/Maltese mix. Can I bring my 1/2 Yorkie as well?

Nevermind...I just saw that all dogs are welcome but only purebred Yorkies will be counted in the tally and can participate in the contests and group picture. Can't wait to see all the adorable Yorkies!!!

Oh wow... that sound like an awesome event. Too bad I'm in Ohio and rarely travel. Im sure there are tons of YT members who will join. I would love to see photos thou.

Will you have a rain date? If the weather's bad, I won't be going into the city from Jersey.

Blue and I are moving to NYC this August! We can hardly wait to attend the event and maybe we could make some new friends there!

Thank you for the welcome!! I visited NY last April. Wow, what a different city from others!! My niece and I really enjoyed our trip there and I can't wait to go back and explore more there.

I forgot about Yom Kippur on September 14th.

It is Jew's New Year holiday and it is very important to my fiancé. I was so bummed! If the event starts in the morning, that would be great because I can go! If not, please take pictures so that way I will feel like like I was there with you guys!

It sounds like such fun. Wish all of us from all over could come and enjoy all the Yorkies together. Think of the fun and the pictures! Tibbe would eat it up with a spoon. Have fun and post lots of pictures for the rest of us to look in on if you will.

That's so weird that they would schedule an event on Yom Kippur. A ton of people in NYC observe that holiday. Bummer. Let's all get in touch closer to the event to confirm who's going & try to plan a meet up

I hope they will change the date. I really want to go!

Is there a dog event coming up in October in NYC?

We did speak to the organizer about the date but since all the marketing had gone out, the date could not be changed.
