| You can also check out the successful adoptions to see how many pups have been adopted though them. They are really a great group that deeply care about the dogs.

| Apparently you do as well. I did check them out, and I'm filling out an adoption application. Thank you for this suggestion. Wish me luck. |

| They just had an adoption event, there is another one this weekend. I think they hold off on events until the spring after this one. They will look up your vet to make sure that the dog would be taken care of as well. Nicole from the rescue is actually on this forum, all of the girls that work there are really nice and go out of there ways for you.

| Hi, I've just adopted a male Yorkie puppy this afternoon and I am feeling not good so I really need your advice. I saw him on craiglist from a breeder in the area. So I drove to her house (so I think this is not a puppymill) to check out the puppy. He's 7moth old, cute and behaves well. The Mexican American breeder is very nice, she remembers his date of birth and the adoption fee is in my range. My happiness quickly melted down when my sister mentioned the documentation of health testing. Actually, this is the first time I adopt a puppy so I did not check out the procedure or what to do. So I came to see the breeder, adopting the yorkie without singing any ownership transfer or asking any documents related to acquiring the Yorkie such as registration, vaccination record, etc. After coming home, I called back the breeder and asked about these questions. The breeder told me she got him vaccinated, i.e. rabies and the other one but i did not get it, since his one month age. She explained this Yorkie health care plan came with its mother so she does not have any papers. I handed her money, so I can not say anything more. Should I believe her? otherwise, what should I do? I am said (but not sure yet) because I do not have any paper, my Yorkie might be rescued when I bring him to the doctor and/or I may be charged a very high fee for vaccination without documentation of vaccination record. My questions are that: Do I have to register him to the city hall, if yes, within how many days since adoption and what papers should be brought along with. Do I have to bring him to the vet right away? can you recommend some names in Toms River, NJ area? You have more experience taking care of puppy, can you give me some advice what to do for my first time adopting? I am quite frustrated now. thank you very much. I highly appreciate that. |

| Thank you for your reply, Angles. I will register for his license soon after vaccination. You are right, he might not have been to a vet. I supposedly start over. Thank you and have a good week |
