If you want to stop the behavior all together, then belly bands are ok to use as a tool in combination with training.

I'm having a problem. Like I said, I just got it today (BB) and I have tried previously, but my boy totally guilt trips me. I put it on him and he stands there frozen. When he finally walks, it's like a 90 year old man with a limp. Totally pathetic. Will he get over it? I'm the one to usually break and give up, until I start seeing pee spots everywhere

Is it possible that the belly band is too tight? Does he wear clothes, or does he prefer to run around nekked?

That is one problem I haven't encountered. Kaji will let me put anything on him, and I mean anything. Hats, shirts, sweaters, skirts (it was a joke) nothing phases him.

Have you tried giving him treats for wearing the belly band?

No clothes, we do it freestyle around here This particular belly band was too tight, but I have had some in the past that weren't and it's always the same reaction. I guess I need to have him wear it for short intervals and get used to it.

That's probably it. Wearing something around is probably just new to him. Kaji's breeder did dress him and have him wear belly bands in the house so it's something he was already use to. Treats are praise are always good.
