| Long Island groomer/prices? We're getting a Yorkie soon and I wanted to get an idea of grooming prices and some recommendations for good places to try. Can anyone in the area give some recommendations? Thanks! |

| You will pay anywhere between $30-$60 here on LI. I just finished a grooming course through BOCES because with 6 yorkies of my own and 5-10 foster pups a year, it just got to be too expensive. |

| I have been a groomer for over 30 years. I graduated from the New york School of Dog Grooming. I live in Farmingville. I charge 40.00 -45.00. Each dog is groomed one at a time. They usually are finished within 2 hours. You can e-mail me if you would like more info. |

| Does BOCES have a training here in NYC? I been wanting to learn how to groom my Hugo but many grooming schools in NYC are not tailored to one breed, but many! |

| We bring Winston to Petsmart, but I'm looking for a new groomer on Long Island too. It's about $40 and I never like his haircuts. He always looks so silly, and it takes about a week for his curls to come back. |

| He's a yorkiepoo, that's why he has curls. |

| I'm not sure about NYC but there is one in Nassau county and one in Suffolk county. We did have to learn all different cuts but I brought my pups in every week so I was always working on a yorkie. |

| The groomer I brought Biscuit to would charge anywhere between $50.00 and $65.00 depending on who I brought him too. I am not sure what I will do with Trixie....thinking of using a mobile groomer??

On Wednesday we're trying Exotic Paws in Merrick. I saw two Shih Tzus on the street and their owner said that she brings them there. They even have a $10 off coupon on their website. | |

| All of my dogs are groomed at Exotic Paws and they're awesome! You don't need the coupon - all new clients get $10 off if you just remind them when you check in and again when you check out (sometimes they get busy and forget you're new). They have a special program if you like your dog groomed more often (I have mine groomed every other week) you should ask about it. And you get a discount on anything you buy from the store on the day of your grooming. |

| i have four dogs right now (one is a 2 year old male yorkie) and another on the way (yorkie female 7 weeks). we don't go to cedar creek because i wasn't sure small dogs would do well at a dog park but if i know you'll be there with your yorkie i'll definitely go so let me know when you're going.
