I've worked in a lot of stores and in the public service for years and have dealt with people like this. The store owner was very lucky you went back and talked to him. You could have filed a discrimation suit against his store as she was in his employment. He did the right thing and she doesn't deserve to be working in public. My husband is an ex-cop and always says I need to learn to hold my tongue and walk away. Sorry, after 13 years of abuse from an ex, no one talks down to me. I was in a pet store just after I got Belle and a store lady (I use that term lightly) asked what kind of dog she was. I told her Belle was a Morkie and she chuckled and said "I guess not everyone can afford a Yorkie so they get a mutt instead." Good thing I was holding Belle or I probably would have decked her! I asked what nationality she was (knowing she was German) and she said she married a man from the US, so I asked if she had kids and she said she did. I then told her "well, not everyone can have purebred children, some of you settle for mutts" She never said a word after that. I've been back to that store and she always makes sure she goes to another isle. I made that comment to get to her, I am not a bigot in anyway and I am German and Irish, so my kids are mutts too, God luv em":D |
