| Orthpedic Vet in NYC Can anyone recommend an orthopedic vet in NYC or around the area? I noticed my baby has been limping so I want to take her to a specialist. If anyone does recommend one and they had luxating patella surgery can they let me know what was the price range or if they were able to set up a payment plan. I just want to be prepared in case she will need surgery. Thanks in advance. |

| The Animal Medical Center in Manhattan has orthpedic vets on staff, and physical therapy on site also for post surgery.

| Hey there, when my vet diagnosed Cassi with Luxating Patella I took her to see Dr. Martin DeAngelis who's an Orthopedic Specialist at the Village Animal Clinic (here's the website - Village Animal Clinic - Promoting Health and Wellness for your Pet). It's located in Ardsley, NY...so most likely it will be a 30-45 minute drive from NYC. I was extremely pleased with Cassi's consultation with Dr. DeAngelis as he seemed to really care for the animal and not wanting to make a quick buck by performing surgery. After the consultation he did diagnose Cassi with a grade 3/4 LP. However, since she was not limping or showing any signs of pain/distress, he indicated that she will not need surgery as long as she does not gain any weight and that I continue to give a Cosequin daily. In addition, he recommended that I bring her back for a yrly routine check-up. The initial consult was $175 and they charge you extra for x-ray. For the surgery it would be around $2-3K. Hope this helps.
