| Questions about traveling I want to go to my mothers house for Xmas. She lives in New Mexico and I live in New Hampshire. Here is the questions i have for anyone who has ever flown with 2 dogs before. 1. I am going alone, so CAN I bring 2 dogs with me? 2. I see a lot of airlines have max weight & age restrictions for 2 pets in 1 carrier. I wonder if they would make an exception if my dogs weigh 14lbs together and the carrier would be another couple pounds (I see most say 15lb max per carrier on the sites) and they are the same species but are older than 6 months old. (Ive seen this as a restriction too) 3. What about potty breaks during a layover? Do you recommend belly bands for that day? 4. Do they charge a fee of $80 - $100 ONE way? Is that PER pet or PER Carrier? I am so confused as to how to go about doing this! It seems ALL airlines only allow 1 pet per passenger. YET I KNOW people have MORE than 1 small dog that they travel with so I don't know if I need to contact an airline directly to find out how to get me and MY 2 DOGS to my and from my destination! HAHA OH and keep in mind... this is Dec... its going to be COLD here! Really cold, too cold for them to travel in cargo. AARRGG I don't get why it has to be made so difficult! Thanks all!!!!!

| Why don't you call around to the different airlines, and ask what their rules are. Then you'll know what airline is best at meeting your needs.

| I agree with the above, call the specific airlines for the best information just so you're not surprised about any recent changes. Here is a link to real general regulations http://www.pettravel.com/airline_rules.cfm |

| I agree contact the airline that you want to travel on. Surprises at the airport are no fun at all. I would hate to see you heart broken and stranded at the airport because of miss communication. Also keep in mind that if you are wanting to travel with 2 pets. The airlines only allow 2 in cabin on the flights so you want to make sure they have your reservation as to having to. As far as the price goes. That is one way, not round trip. As far as potty breaks on the trip. I have done several things in the past. I had taken them outside to go, but that was before the long lines with security. Last few times I flew I just used the piddle pads. That worked really well for us.
