Has anyone flown recently with united airlines Hello everyone....I am currently in Florida and we are retuning home to Canada. We flew here on American Airlines as we have for the last 15 years, but just found out they are not flying into our returning city anymore. We are now scheduled to fly back with United Airlines. I am not off the ground yet and am so annoyed with them. We tried to book our seats closer to the front of the plane as we only have a 37 minute connection, and had to pay a 70 dollars more per seat. OK that was fine but there was no seat in front of us to put the dog's carrier under. I tried to explain this to the person I was speaking to and he kept telling me the dog had to go under MY seat. That is the first time in all these years I have ever heard of such a thing. Well after arguing with him I said never mind. I ended up with a seat almost at the back of the plane but at least there are seats in front of me to put the carrier. I then went on their website and it stated that the carrier has to go under the seat forward of you....so I was right. Oh yes then he told me I had to have a health certificate issued within 15 days of departure or she couldn't fly. Never in 15 years have I been asked for that. I have her health certificate showing she has had all her shots and her medical history which I always travel with but have never even been asked for it. This is my first trip with this airlines and I believe my last. Have any of you flown with United with your yorkie and did they ask you for your health certificate. I don't have time to get one now and am so afraid they won't let us on the plane. I looked back and American Airlines does not require one. I also printed of United Airlines IN CABIN PETS document from their website and it doesn't say anything there. It just says to call Reservations about international in cabin pet acceptance and service charges, but that is stantard policy when booking on line and travelling with a pet as there is no place when booking on line to pay ahead for the pet charge. Please if anyone has flown recently with United or even in the last year let me know of your experience....I am freaking out right now and need some answers from people that know....and it is not customer service at United.
