Linda, I am just now seeing this thread and am in shock and tears. I am so sorry for the loss of Sunny D, and for your own health struggles. I don't even know the words to express how I feel, but please know that I have sooooo much respect and admiration for you and all that you do, and I am extremely sorry you have had so much to deal with lately.

You are in my thoughts and prayers. I wish there was more I could do. You are one tough lady, and I know you will fight the fight, and I will be sending you good thoughts and healing energy as you do.

I am just back from GCVS in Houston....I cannot believe this one. I am babysitting Callie this week....she is a YHR foster with cardiac issues and her foster mom and her husband went on a cruise. She was fine until this evening and she suddenly started having breathing issues. Her gums were pale and her respirations were 73...I immediately called GCVS and they said to bring her right in. She is in ICU now.... They think it is either heart failure or a blood clot. She has a history of pulmonary hypertension and PLN. Very sick pup..so sad...all because she had heartworms. She had previously lived outside and never had any care to speak of. Young pup with a wonderful personality. Anyway....She is on oxygen and they are going to do an xray and ultrasounds and some blood work to see if they can figure out what is going on. She is already a patient of the cariologist there so she will see her in the morning....I just pray she makes it. They are very concerned about her. Whatever is going on at this house needs to please stop.

I just feel badly for her...and also for her foster mom. I got in touch with her and hated ruining her vacation like this. She and her husband love Callie...of course they do know her prognosis is not great long term; but still to be so far away.

Just gotta add, that if I was on vacation and lived near you, I would want you to watch my little ones because I would know they would be in the best possible of hands. I am sure the foster mom feels the same way.

I am sure Callie foster parents are so thankful right now, that Callie was in your care, when she became ill. Just think of the consequences if she hadn't been taken in right away. Sending prayers that she recoups..and how sad that she suffered such neglect from her original owners (can't call them her family after they neglected her so horribly)

I would not suggest that right now... I swear this house is cursed.

Stephanie is her foster and yes, she chose to leave her with me knowing I could deal with her many meds and her condition. Of course neither of us thought about this happening. She was ok when I spoke with her late last night...it is not like we did not know these things could happen. The vets have advised her all along that one day this will get her. So sad

Oh, they have a pet sitter coming in to care for theirs, but wanted me to care for Callie. And, yes, thank God because she would have more than likely died. Would have been horrible for Callie and for everyone else, including the pet sitter.

I saw the PA today and she prescribed another antibiotic. While it looks better than it did the last time she saw it in terms of the reddening....it is very swollen. There is a seroma but she did not want to drain it ... she is concerned it will stir up the infecious process if it is indeed infected. I had been put on Doxycycline and Rifampin and on day 7 I had to stop taking them. My stomach was torn up from the Doxy...horrible upset stomach and reflux. No amount of meds and antacids were helping. I had a bit of a chuckle about it after the fact as I lost 4 pounds in that one week. I have been dieting since Jan. 1 and losing slowly...that was a lot in a week so my total is not bad right now.

So...I keep my pain and continue on antibiotics and see the surgeon next Mon or Tues. They will email my appointment. They are awesome about contacting you and giving you ways to contact them. I have a direct phone number for everyone on my team including my surgeon. Very, very impressed with the care at M.D. Anderson! When you have an appt. you are seen at that time..no waiting longer than 5 minutes. Unbelievable!

Thank you so much everyone for your thoughts and prayers. You have no idea how comforted I am by them. I am hanging in .. I told a friend that this is the worst time of my life since my mother died...and that was eons ago. Guess I am kind of feeling sorry for myself off and on now. But...basically I am grateful that my biopsy turned out as it did. Things could be much worse. Not sure I want to know how much, though.

I had to laugh about you joking over the weight loss...keep that sense of humor intact...humor and laughing is always important, but esp right now!

It's tough to see you write that second part I bolded, bc we both know what it is to lose a Mom and what you go through during and after, and forever bc of it. I know life isn't fair, but I sure wish you weren't having to endure so much pain - physical, emotional, mental, spiritual etcetera. You stay strong...but you also go right ahead and feel sorry for yourself when you need to, bc your mind/heart needs to feel those feelings too. Also? Get pissed off! This can help keep the spirit on its toes .

Linda I think ordering the st Christopher bracelet from Alex and Ani was a good idea for starters, but I think you should also call the local rectory and ask for a priest to come over and clean out the house. Have Maria do a sage cleansing also. You need to pull out all the big guns with your luck lately
