Prayers needed for my mom I don't start too many threads and don't get a lot of responses to those I do start nor unfortunately do I have any "close friends here, but I wonder if you could keep my mom in your prayers. She's in the hospital (since Wednesday night) with what they say is pneumonia. The pulmonologist came in today and said he is concerned that the pneumonia is not getting better so he wants to do a CT scan to make sure it isn't something else like a tumor. She did smoke many years ago and also worked most of her working years in an insulation factory. My mom is a very alert 91 year old. I am the "baby" of the family and she lives with me. I am so concerned and afraid. I am so blessed to still have her with me. Please, if I could impose on the Yorkie Talk community to please keep her in your prayers. Thank you all so very much. |
I am so sorry to hear about your Mom. I will keep her in my prayers and you too. You have a friend in me and many more here. Hugs |

You have touched many of us with your kindness, Jan, and we care about what you and your mom are going through. The bond and love between a mom and her children is something very beautiful, powerful, and protective, so I understand how difficult this must be. You and your mom will be in my thoughts and prayers. |

Having had pneumonia myself and once had to be hospitalized, it sometimes can be slower getting over. I will be keeping you in prayer too, it is so difficult when our loved one has health problem. YT ers Prayers are mighty, thank you for letting us know so we all can be praying for your Mother and you. Sending Hug to you from myself and Jack. |
I am so sorry that your sweet little mom is so ill:( I will keep her and the doctors in my prayers. I hope the ct scan comes back ok. ((hugs)) |
Ninety one years old! Bless her heart, that's just wonderful! It sounds like you two are very close, and you must be so worried about her. Yes I will pray. Is she having much discomfort? When is the scan scheduled? It's so scary when our elderly parents are ill. No sooner were my adult children grown and independent, then it was time to start worrying about my parents. The fact that she is with you and you love her so is a wonderful testimony to the kind of daughter that you are, Jan. Please let us know how things are going. By the way, what's you mom's name? |
Bless her heart. I'm so sorry she is going through this. Sending prayers for your mom. I will keep you and your family in my prayers. |
Prayers coming your way! |
Sending good thoughts and prayers for your Mom and hugs to both of you. |
Just seeing your post...I am keeping your Mom in my prayers and praying the CT comes back fine. May God hear all of our prayers. |
Sending prayers and ((HUGGZZ)) your way. Hoping the CT scan comes back normal. |
I'm sorry your Mom is ill and I will deff say some Prayers for her. Pneumonia can be difficult for elderly people to get over, I ask you Lord to give this woman the strength to fight this off & be well in no time. Some things to consider, Dairy products , bananas & soda are some of the things that should be avoided with pneumonia as they promote the production of mucous. There are other things to avoid but I can't think of them at the moment. You can do a search for foods to avoid with pneumonia. |
Payers for your mom & you too. Hugs |
Keeping you and your mom in my thoughts and prayers. |
I too have an elderly mom living with me. She fell about a year ago and broke her wrist and femur. She went to rehab and I was not sure how I would care for her at home but asured her she would be returing home. She will be 98 next month and I thank God that she survived. She is able to be left at home and I have been able to continue to work. Best of all she has remained as sharp as ever. I know at almost 98 I am very lucky to have her in my life. Soo 91 is still young and all things are possible through faith. I'll keep you both in my prayers. I know it's not easy but you can come here anytime you need a shoulder. Keep us posted on how you are both doing. Best wishes for a speedy recovery. |

Looking for an update...hope things are ok.. |
Hello, This has been a week. My mom came home tonight though the way she was breathing when we got home, it seemed as though she should still be in the hospital. She came home on antibiotics twice a day and breathing treatments as needed. She seems so weak and frail. Not so sure that she will get much better. She had the CT scan and along with the fluid in her lungs, it showed a 0.08cm nodule that could represent cancer. The doctor wants a follow up CT in 3-6 months. All of your prayers are so appreciated, you will never know how much it means to me. Thank you all so very much. |
