Thanks. We are sitting here at the Cancer Center for Ken's 2nd treatment. It's been crazy busy here today. The music therapist stopped in and talked with us for awhile and just started to play her guitar but then the nutritionist came in so she left. Ken is a music lover and plays guitar since he was 14. She is coming back next Thursday and Ken is bringing one of his guitars and they are going to play. He loves Irish music ans she spent a year in Ireland learning music. So she is going to teach Ken some songs. She really was so nice and we enjoyed her visit. Then the pharmacy nurse came in and the oncologist nurse. Ken is sleeping now so I took the IPad to come on YT. They want him to eat more and they were thinking of giving him a transfusion tomorrow but we are getting 6-9 inches of snow tonight and we will not be able to get out possibly. So we have to come back Monday for blood work and a possible transfusion. The transfusion takes 6 hours! Ken is doing a little better on the pain medication so hopefully this treatment won't set him way back. As always thanks for caring! |
I'm so happy for Ken and you that he can share his love of music, Irish and guitar, with the music therapist. :) Sending prayers that the treatment today is not too hard on him and that the pain medication helps him. Praying for his rest and comfort, and for him to be able to eat. 6 hours for the transfusion -- wow, that is a long time! I pray he does well and won't need it. |
Still keeping you and Ken in my prayers. Stay strong {HUGS}. |
Continued prayers for Ken that God will work miracles |
Still praying for you and Ken. Sending hugs. Hope the treatment went smoothly and he is resting comfortably. Continue to stay strong and fight the good fight! God will provide healing! |
Oh that's great about the guitar/music therapy and the chemo news. I'll pray for 'no snow!' and hope all goes well! You both are in my prayers always! |
You and ken are continually in my prayers. How wonderful that he will will have music therapy. I believe music is uplifting and can bring great joy and comfort. I hope all goes well. Sending prayers and best wishes. |

Praying Ken is doing better today, will be so thankful that soon we will hear that the treatments are doing what is needed. We are continually praying for him and you. Patti please take care of yourself, God will carry you and Ken through all this, keep faith and never give up. Our love and hugs to you from the both of us. Patti and Jack |
Thanks! Ken had his 3rd of 9 treatments today and has to have a blood transfusion tomorrow due to low hemoglobin count. He is getting so discouraged. The music therapist never showed up. I felt so bad for Ken he brought his 12 string guitar and was looking forward to learning some Irish songs from her. Also one of the lymph nodes in his neck has doubled in size the past week. We saw the oncologist on the way out and stopped to ask him about it. He said that he wasn't that concerned as he knew there was involvement above the collar bone and he wanted to wait a few more weeks to see if the new chemo is working. We are still worried though that it is growing while on the new chemo. I am still telling Ken to think positive and pray for the cure. |

Hey Patti, So sad that the music thing didn't go as planned. And that Ken is having difficulties at this time. Sending prayers up that this will just go away, and that Ken will be healed. Has Ken been doing any visualization techniques, where the patient 'sees' the cancer cells and wills them to shrink and be gone? My explanation is a bit simplistic, but I do believe the mind is a very powerful thing. Praying hard that he recovers and is healed.... |

Patti you are a real blessing to Ken, we're asking God to provide you abundance of strength and energy daily as you care for Ken, HE will. Learn Irish Guitar Ken, we along with so many people here are continually lifting you up in our prayers, we ask the Lord to surround those cancer cells and remove them from your body and heal you, HE CAN, we are claiming this for you. Jack looks forward to playing a game of chess with you on line when you are feeling better. I hope this guitar site is one you can enjoy with Jim Murray :) our GrandSon plays guitar, I shall ask him about irish music too. Hugs from us both, Patti and Jack |
Thanks! I just wish Ken would have a few weeks of feeling better to boost his spirits. But we will stay strong and go for the cure with all your prayers and well wishes. Patti that was so sweet to post that link. I will show it to Ken. |
prayers and lighting candles for you both tomorrow, God bless and keep the faith. You are both incredible people... |
Sending prayers |
You both are in our hearts and prayers. |
Thanks. Ken has been having severe back pain on his spine. He had an MRI of his back this morning at 6 am. We should know the results in a day or two. We are so afraid that the cancer has spread to his bones. All prayers are so appreciated! |
I'm sorry to hear that Ken is having pain. He has been through so much. :( Prayers continue for both of you. |
Patti I am so sorry that Ken is in so much pain. I have you both in my prayers daily. |
