| Thanks to all of my YT friends for your thoughts and prayers. This has been of of the hardest times of my life. My mom who lives with me is 96 and has an up coming birthday in September. She is a retired school teacher and has been an amazing mom. She was totally independent and just recently gave up driving. She is as sharp as a tack and was just unbelievable for her age. Everyone one who knew her and anyone that met her could not believe her age. She had been hit with what they called, positional vertigo. When she went to sit in the chair she fell to the floor and broke her left hip and wrist. She had surgery on her hip and a closed reduction to her wrist. They transferred her to a rehab facility only 3 days after surgery. I discovered that the anesthesia had totally changed her. She was confused and acting strange. I was devastated to say the least. To see your mom go from being totally independent, able to debate politics with the best of them to a confused frustrated lady was the most frightening event I have ever had. I had no idea that anesthesia did that to older adults. We have had so many problems in dealing with the rehab facility. I just can't imagine anyone her age without an advocate. We seem to go from one problem to another.* Ann, I feel so bad for you. My mom is kinda in your boat as she has her left arm in a cast and her right arm has arthritis making even feeding herself a challenge.* Brenda I am so sorry that Mike is going through all that he has and you both are in my thoughts and prayers.* Patti you are such a special angel. Your devotion to Jack is just beyond comprehension.* Once again thank you all at YT for your thoughts and prayers. What a great place this forum is and what a bunch of wonderful people here. |

| Jackie, with your devotion, love, courage, and fortitude, your Mom is going to get stronger and better. It is obvious that you have learned that from her because she is quite a special lady. You are incredibly special also, especially to me. I'm so sorry that you have had to fight so hard to advocate for even the most basic care for your Mom, but you have really impressed me. Your Mom will continue to keep fighting and getting back to herself mentally and physically because she loves you so. I keep counting on her getting even stronger as a result of this ordeal. Your Mom is so lucky to have you going to bat for her every step of the way. The two of you have been given such a gift of having each other for so many years. You are always in my thoughts, prayers, and heart.

| I continue to pray for these special families. Patti and Jack, you have been devoted to each other for so many years, and your love helps to carry you through and shelter you from the storms that you have faced. It's beautiful that you have celebrated your fifty fifth wedding anniversary. I understand the kind of love and devotion you have because I have shared such a life together with my husband, John. We have been married for thirty three years, and every day is special because we are together. Brenda and Mike, you also have a beautiful life and love that you've shared together. You have fought so hard to get the care that Mike deserves. Your advocacy for him has really made a huge difference in Mike's care. I shudder to think how Mike would be without you, Brenda. I know it has not been easy for you, but I also know your love will help you get you through it. John's and my love have also helped us to weather any storm, as long as we face things together. Dear Jackie, you are an amazing, gentle, compassionate soul and you have the biggest heart. I am so happy that you and your Mom have each other. There is nothing that you won't do to support someone you love, and I know that because of your mother but also from my own personal experience as your friend. You are an admirable daughter and truly wonderful friend. I am ecstatic that your Mom is doing so much better. She is a very special and intelligent woman, and she has great strength and courage. Thank God her confusion from the anesthesia is over and that she is getting so much stronger. It gives me great anxiety to think of what would have happened to her if you weren't there fighting for her to get the care she needs. She has so much to live for because she has such a devoted and loving daughter. You are a truly special person and I feel privileged to be your friend. I love you, Jackie. You are a sweetheart. Ann and Tony, you are facing something together right now, that is very difficult to cope with. Ann, I am so sorry that you got injured. I care about you so much, and I really miss you. I hope you are not in a lot of pain. I know how your life has been turned upside down, but I believe you will come through this together much stronger than before. Please take care of yourself. You are so special, and I hope you get well very soon. You are always in my thoughts, my hopes for you, and my heart. I'd like to add Shinja and her DH to our prayers. Shinja, you and your husband have a great deal of courage and love which will help you overcome the obstacles that you face with his illness. I hope the bone marrow transplant goes well. You are always in my prayers, heart, and thoughts. After we face times in our lives where we have to beat the odds stacked against us, it draws us closer to those we love. When we face adversity and cope with it together, our bonds are strengthened and usually the love becomes stronger, as well. I hope each of you is also able to see the positives while experiencing the stormy weather for “after every storm there is a rainbow.”
