| Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Thank you everyone for your compassion and well wishes at this time. Some of you may know Darcy came to us with a bunch of health issues, CHF being one of them. She has always had "seizure" or "fainting" type episodes, but the vet I used at the time said it was related to her heart, and would not give her anything but lasik. I changed vets at the beginning of this year, and he began treating her with Vasotec and Prednisone. We noticed a big improvement in her spunkiness, and breathing. Over the past weekend, she has had several seizures in rapid succession. A vet in the clinic we use prescribed phenobarbitol (I made a post about it). Darcy had a lot of problems on it, and appeared overly sedated. We took her back to the vet today and the head vet at the clinic feels her heart is too weak in order to function with the sedative. He drained 4 oz of fluid off her belly, which came back in 4 hours. She spent the day in a oxygen cage, and we were able to bring her home tonight in the cage. She goes back tomorrow, and will probably be in there throughout the weekend. At this point, they are not interested in treating her for the seizures, just making sure her heart begins to function better. Please continue to pray for my Darlin Girl. We have not slept a solid 8 hours since we have had her, since she must potty all the time due to the lasik. Most of my DB money goes to pay for her meds and care. But, as her Daddy says, we would happily do it all over for 3 more years. She is everything to us. I am thankful for the three years we have had with her, but even thirteen would never be enough. I am attaching pictures of her peeping out of her oxygen cage at the vets, and one of her at home |

Even the husband has been asking if we have heard anything about Darcy. (She is the spitting image of our dear Cricket We are glad she is getting help w her fluid/heart problems. We will be keeping her in our prayers. She is a little fighter! |

| Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Thank you everyone. Darcy has been resting in her oxygen cage. We took her out a but ago and she ate about 1/8th of a jar of chicken babyfood, and she drank a bunch of water & pottied. I was going to cuddle her for a while, but her breathing is just too labored, so we put her back in her cage. My husband is lying in front of it so she can see him and not feel so lonely ![]() Thanks to everyone who has PM'ed me with information or just positive thoughts and prayers over the past few days. I am sorry I have not had a chance to answer them. Our vet is 20 miles from us, and we made 3 trips there today, and will be doing the same tomorrow. I keep my DB facebook updated as I can do it easier from my phone, so please feel free to check there for Darcy pupdates. xxxooo Amy & the DB Gang |
