Yorkie pregnant and shaking Sorry but I didn't know where to put this. For the past 2 days she's been shaking. Does this happen when they get close to giving birth? She looks like she's about to explode. Maybe to many in her? I wasn't home the last time she gave birth but my wife said she didn't get this big last time and she had 7 but only 6 lived. She is shaking but other than that seems fine. She's eating and still gets hyper when I say "you want treat".. Do I need to take her to the vet now or what? I don't know how long she's been pregnant but she started to look it about 3-4 weeks but before that we still thought she might have been. Here's pics of her now, crappy pic with cell phone http://i50.tinypic.com/2n8ri8w.jpg http://i45.tinypic.com/m7xqmg.jpg

Shaking is usually a sign of pain so you should probably take her to the vet for a check up. It would be a good idea anyway since she's PG.

She's having them right now. I see 2 so far but she still looks like she has more to give birth too. Last time it took a few hours for her to give birth to all 7.

Sorry for the delay but I'd like to report all is well. And having never seen any kind of birth was pretty fasinating and gross. She had 6 puppies and all are alive. There's one that is very small. So I told my wife to make sure he gets on the tit and eats. Didn't look at what the sexs were but will when I get home. I have a heating set to low for them. I couldn't believe when I lifted up her back leg and seen a baby half way out and her not in any pain. Just heavy breathing like she just ran.

Well I had one pass away last night. My wife came home and found the female sitting on them while they were under a sheet. But I trid to feed him but it was to late. He made one last crying noise, shook and passed away (quite sad). I put my mouth on his to try some type of cpr but the little guy was gone. And the one that died was the smallest one and by smallest I mean from birth it didn't look like it got any bigger and was easily 3x smaller than the others. But all 5 look good and I'm off for 4 days so I can make sure they all get fed. Last edited by danieloneil01; 01-27-2010 at 09:29 AM.

Sorry to hear about the little guy. What a relief that the others and Mom are doing well.
