Patti called this evening and she and her hubby are in Arizona! He went to the surgeon this morn and will need bypass surgery in a few months time. The doctor wants him to ride an exercise bike for the time being which will help things. The surgeon told them to go on their trip and have a good time. He is not in immediate danger, so they managed to get a later flight than the one they had previously and they are already there! Patti will fill you in better on the details, but she wanted me to update the thread.

Have a great time in AZ, Patti!

Patti, I'm a newbie here but I wanted to tell you that Belle and I are thinking of you and praying for you. Please don't let your husband not go to the Dr. After 18 years as an emergency Room Tech. I know the dangers as you do also. Men do this when they are scared of what's happening, his not going would be worse than anything that happens if he does go.

Im sorry just seeing this. Patti youve sure had a rough year. Im praying your vacation is peaceful and you both enjoy it. And of course for your hubby to have a speedy recovery.

Thanks everyone! My husband's back pain is gone so it appears it was not from the blockages. His vascular surgeon said he went and looked at the cat scan and the ER doctor not being trained in vascular surgery like he is just saw the blockages, what he told us was that my husband's left femoral artery that he had 3 stents put in 14 years ago was completely blocked but that he had built a natural bypass next to it with a collateral? artery that was supplying enough blood flow, his right artery is completely blocked and there is a small collateral artery formed so he is not in any immediate danger. He felt we could go on our trip, and then when my husband retires in December he will do an angioplasy on the right artery and open that up and then do a small bypass by going in the right groin and putting an artificial artery from that to the
left blocked artery which will increase the blood flow to his legs. Right now he can only walk a short distance without severe pain. So we went to Arizona and had a great few days rest. Thanks so much for all your prayersl
