The cell phones are out so I have not been able to get hold of my daughter, Michelle that lives in Tomball. She is home recovering from her brain surgery. She told me yesterday morning that one of her 10 year old son's friends was kill by a falling tree when the boys father was cutting down a tree prior to the hurricane hitting. I am afraid there are going to be many sad stories to come.

I pray everyone else in Ike's path is safe. It is heading toward Lufkin now where my other daughter lives. Thank you all for your continued prayers.

Got a call from my brother last night that lives in the south west area of Louisiana (10 minutes from Lake Charles), they've been pounded pretty bad, I felt so helpless when he called in tears. He works for the prison and was trying to make his way home to his wife and son and places were under water. He made it home safe but their home has had damage, not sure how much yet, but he did say the windows were blown out, they have no power and he had to leave his family and head back to work early this AM during the peak of it all. I'm thankful they are alive and I'm waiting for an update from him when he makes it back home. I'm so sorry to hear about the lil boy who was killed by a falling tree, how devistating, that family as well as everyone touched by Ike is in my thoughts and prayers. Stay safe everyone.

I have not heard from Michelle. I imagine they are without electricity and their cell phone is not working. I am praying they are safe.
