Please pray for my friends husband...he is down there evacuating a zoo! he just returned home from helping w/ Gustav and had to turn right around and go to Tx. But he loves animals and his job....she said that he just wasn't the same after hurricane Rita and Katrina...those poor animals. :cry8:

Nervous about this one!!! It's looking to hit Freeport and we aren't more than 1 1/2 hours from there...but we're on the "good" side...if there is one!

I'm just praying that we won't have to go without electricity for long!!!!!!

Just found out this afternoon that mail won't be running for the next 2 days. I was so worried that since they didn't call for a mandatory evac for Victoria that I'd have to go to work...thank God that they are allowing us to miss work.

Prayers to everyone that is in it's direct path. We'll be experiencing high winds and rain and hopefully my oak trees won't fall down!

Oh goodness! All my Texas YT pals. I'm thinking of you and praying that everyone remains safe.

My daughter is in Austin so she is out of harm's way.

I'll be watching the weather and praying for all of you.

We live about 45 miles northwest of Beaumont so if the storm comes in where it is projected to then we will be on the 'dirty' side of the storm. I am so nervous about this storm. It is so huge. I know we are in for a rough ride. Please keep us and everyone else in Ike's path in your prayers.

Constant prayers from Colorado!! Yesterday, I cried all day ... 9/11 ... today, all day, I have been watching IKE and crying again! Please, please, if you can evacuate, do it! Those on that freighter ... please pray for them. When you can, please let us know you all are OK! God have mercy on you all.

I have friends there that evacuated Saturday..Please keep them in your loving arms and keep them safe.

We are okay but we have had a devastating hit from Ike. We lost electricity around 4 a.m. and we are running on our generator now. We have huge oak trees down everywhere. Luckily none have hit our house yet. My husband, Al, got a call from his son and he told us part of the roof has blown off our antique/resale shop in Warren and things are getting wet. Al's son said they also had a tree limb go through the roof of their mobile home's master bedroom and water in coming in. There is nothing we can do. We cannot even leave yet. My husband will have to cut up several big trees before he can get out of our driveway.

It is going to be horrible around here, I imagine no electricity for weeks. I know we are lucky compared to what many have experienced. Thousands of homes are probably flooded or blow away in coastal areas. I pray no one has lost their life.

The cell phones are out so I have not been able to get hold of my daughter, Michelle that lives in Tomball. She is home recovering from her brain surgery. She told me yesterday morning that one of her 10 year old son's friends was kill by a falling tree when the boys father was cutting down a tree prior to the hurricane hitting. I am afraid there are going to be many sad stories to come.

I pray everyone else in Ike's path is safe. It is heading toward Lufkin now where my other daughter lives. Thank you all for your continued prayers.

I'm so glad you are physically safe. I know the damage will take forever to clean up!
I'm so sorry about your grandsons friend and their family. I heard about it several times on the news yesterday.
We are in Carthage and the wind is blowing hard and it's just beginning to rain. I'm sure we'll lose power soon.
