Bump because I'm curious, too. Right now we're using Banfield, but I want to know who else is out there for dog care.

♥ Mama's Boy ♥ Donating Member | I take Tobie to Smith and Shedd, I really like them and he also gets his hair cut there as well. They are very friendly and patient with me because when we go in, I will ask a 100 questions..lol. They are very caring and I trust them with Tobie. I also like to take Tobie to Lucy's doggy day care, he really enjoys it. And as for breeders I have no idea. Hope this helps you. |

I am from San Antonio actually my husband and I take care of our Yorkie pooh on our own. I sell dog shampoos and I have one that I like to use on her and my husband cuts her hair for me. He likes to cut it with scissors because she does not like the noise the shaver thing that the Groomers use. I just try to help keep her still so he is really careful with her.

I'm on the SW area and we used Potranco Vet. Very nice and friendly folks. Most of all they have GREAT prices. Please contact me if you wish to join Greater San Antonio Yorkshire Terriers Club. We would love to have more members that are interested in promoting responsible pet owners/breeders/exhibitors.

San Antonio Groomer I'm new to YT and just noticed this regional forum. I have been taking my Maltese (and now my new Yorkie, Tank) to Barbara's Clips and Bows on McCullough in The Yard for 8 years. She is wonderful! Talented, knowledgeable, breeds chihuahuas, shows them and s**tzue's (sp?) and has helped me with numerous issues with both my dogs. Saved me several vet trips over the years with her advice and tips. She is reliable, honest and I can't say enough good things about her.

SEP 26, 2010 is Responsible Pet Ownership Day Responsible Pet Owners Alliance are holding a "Responsible Pet Ownership Day" at the Hamilton Community Center in Lady Bird Johnson Park on Nacogdoches Road and would love to have you attend. Also they have asked for our help if you possibly could. It would be a good time for us to meet other people involved with our organization and other pet owners as well. We will be holding a rally competition, a "B" match, and many other activities and could definitely use your help. Please advise if you might have some time on that Sunday and if so, what time you might be able to attend. The event starts at 10:00 (we will be there starting at 8:00) and goes until 4:00 (we'll be cleaning up and end at 5:00) so any time you could spare would be appreciated. For those of you that would like to help I will be there by 8am I don't think I will be staying the entire day but I will be there. So please do tell pet owners about the event and try to attend. Thank you all for your time in advance. Dee

Recommendations for great care I recommend Affordable Pet Care on Basse, my dogs have gone there for years, they are affordable, very nice, & thorough. However, they do not do any type of imaging (xrays) at their facility. I also like Pet Medical Center over on Mainland. They are a bit pricey, but their vets will return calls after hours & sometimes save you an unecessary trip to emergency if it turns out to not be very serious afterall & can wait till the next day. I am an over worrier so having the vet to talk to at say 11pm is really outstanding service to me. I love that the vet understands & is willing to be on call when so many are not. I have had a love for animals all my life which lead me to dog grooming. I groom dogs in a loving, caring, & quiet environment from home, perfect for the spoiled pooches. My mentor though was Barbara from Barbara's clips & bows, so naturally I would highly recommend her & her staff as well.
