Oklahoma City meetup??? Hi! I was wondering if there were any others that would be interested in a meetup in the Oklahoma City area??? I've noticed a lot of other members have meetup in their parts of the country. . .? I've been to the website, but I'm not sure how to really plan one. Maybe if there are others in Oklahoma that are interested then a few of us could coordinate together. Even for some playdates?? :aimeeyork Jess, Rhapsody, & Tiger |

Everyone's invited!!! I'm so happy to see interest! Okay, now bear with me a little bit; I'm working down at a CPA firm, so I was thinking of having it the end of April. Also, this is totally new to me -- any suggestions on where we'd like to have it. A friend of mine mentioned a dog park off I-40, but she said it wasn't very big and there wasn't separate enclosures for small and big dogs. My kids and I will start scouting out the parks now that the weather is turning nice, but please any suggestions are very welcome!!! And hopefully we can coordinate it that everyone who wants to come can, even if it's a couple hours drive! Bring lots and lots of bows, Katy's mom, I was checking out your website. They are gorgous, and I'd being very interested in buying some at the meetup, even if both my babies don't have long enough hair yet! Feel free to PM me, and I'll give you my email address so you can reach me more directly! Again, ideas and suggestions are most welcome to make this a fun success for us and the doggies! :) Jess & the gang |
I am not familar with the dog parks in OKC. I know that the dog park here in Norman has both a big dog and a little dog section. Its just not very close for everyone. |

Well, I'll be keeping an eye on this thread, and unless this happens on a Sunday (I work) I will be sure to be there. |
Hey, thanks, great link! You rock, Katys mom! Hmmm. . . the one my buddy was talking about has to be that Del City Dog Park since it's the only one off I40 -- it lists both a small and large doggie area, and she had thought there was only one general area. I'll go and look at all of them, except the one in Enid -- that would be a bit far. And it's a private dog park! And Norman isn't too bad of a drive from Edmond, or OKC, lol, when you start going places around Oklahoma City everything is about 30 minutes away. What do you think of the dog park in Norman? Is it nice? That one in Yukon looks really nice; it even has an agility area. :aimeeyork |
There is not much there. Its about two tto three times the size of my back yard (the little side). It has a tree in the middle, lots of poop bags, water and that's about it. Oh yeah and when we were there on Sunday it looked like some moles moved in. Katy had a blast trying to find them. I like the idea of the agility area at the Yukon one. |

Me too. I think I'll check that one out first. Has anyone been to the dog park in Yukon?? |
I've been to the one in Norman a couple of times and it's ok. There is another one on Britton just off of Hefner Parkway (across from Lake Hefner) that is pretty nice...big area with trees and toys and a couple of wading pools. And the small dog enclosure is pretty big. And it's right by my favorite place in the world...the dog bakery! |
I have heard alot about that dog bakery but I have never made it there yet. Quote:

Ohhh...I'm might try & come depending on the day. OKC is only a little over 2 hrs from me! :) |
You have got to go to the bakery! I make bi-weekly trips up there...my kids would go crazy without their vanilla tendons. They are the best. And they are so big I cut them in half (they'll do ti for you) and it's double the goods for the cost! |
The lake hefner dog park is nice!!! I vote for the end of April too..b/c Karlee will be out of heat by then so i can bring both my pups! |
