| JOIN US --- Houston Yorkie Play Dates Hello all -- I have initiated a play group through meetup.com. It is free to join so if you'd like to be notified when we are getting together, please put in a member request. The direct link to our play group is Houston Yorkie Play Dates (Houston, TX) - Meetup I am hoping to be able to be able to have these through Houston at different locations so tsomeone doesn't have to drive across town for each and every one! Currently have a date on the west side of town and another just north of Houston (The Woodlands). Hope to see y'all there

| I just submitted a request to join the group. I don't know if I can make it, but I would like to try. It's been so hot (don't have to tell you that) that I haven't made it out to the dog park in a long time. I am so looking forward to a break in the weather for the sake of the pups.

Yorkie Yakker | Houston area breeder or within a few hours of Houston Can anyone recommend a good breeder in the Houston area that they have experience with? I thought about fancy pups then saw this site and all the bad comments....now I don't know where to go. |

| I might be down on this. Mine doesn't seem to play well with other breeds except yorkies. Then again, the way our dog meets others are wrong in the first place since the other owner just wants to let their dog face off with mine. |

YT Addict | Just want to thank everyone that offered advice when I asked for information a while back regarding finding a Yorkie. Well I found a beautiful little girl and she is now home with me. The breeder was the best and she is here in Houston. Thanks again everyone. Once she is settled I will be posting some of GiGi's antics. |

| Houston Yorkie Play Dates (Houston, TX) - Meetup Apparently, this group no longer exists, as I just tried to log on. I would love to find some other like-sized dogs for Graysee to socialize with. Since I've retired, I do not have extra funds to pay for regular doggie day care, for Graysee to develop her social skills, and short, out-for-a-walk meetings do nothing to develop those skills. Since I am a male, and most of the posters seem to be female, that poses another dilemma for me. Any suggestions? I certainly can't take Graysee to a gun range, or a golf course; where else do retired guys go with their dogs? Most of the guys that I see at the dog parks have big dogs, and while Graysee likes big dogs, most are not suitable playmates for her. |

| I bring mine to the small dog side of the dog park. Mine like large dogs, too, but the size difference during play is just too much of a risk, IMO. There are usually fewer dogs on the small dog side, but they get the opportunity to socialize anyway and they sure are worn out when they get home.

| Katie Jo; Just how FAR NORTHWEST is your NW side of Houston? I am in The Woodlands, and would welcome a meeting for Graysee with some other Yorkies. However, Graysee is NOT a typical Yorkie; she is more the size of a Silky, and sometimes intimidates the standard size 5-7 pound Yorkies. She's really a gentle doggie, without a mean streak in her, but she definitely has that Terrier feistiness, and will not back down from a challenge! I would love to get her around 2 or 3 others, so she can learn to get along with the smaller dogs. She LOVES big dogs, but I can't let her play with strangers' larger dogs, as I don't know anything about them, and even at 12 pounds, Graysee IS a little dog. I would be willing to drive out of The Woodlands, on occasion, for some playtime for my girl. I am retired, so my days are fairly open. |
