I really think that you need to take a look at the links that I posted. I'm not sure why you ignored all that I said to you about this puppy mill. I understand that you are excited about your new puppy but the fact the they are on the Prisons of Greed list at a puppy mill speaks volumes.

Congratulations on your new baby and I sincerely wish you well and that she brings you many years of happiness. I also hope that you stick around YT and learn all that you can about puppy mills and the lives that the breeding machines that live there are forced to lead. It is very sad and unfortunately many people unknowingly purchase puppies from places like this.

That really is very great to hear that your puppy checks out well. The problem is that places like the one you purchased from churn out cute puppies without really researching the parents before a breeding. The pups are happy and healthy for a while until well.... their not. Congenital defects start showing up, puppies are really sick and it gets expensive super quick. Where are the breeders then to help a new puppy owner out? They are no where to be found because at that point they have your money and they know you have fallen in love with your puppy and they know you'll never give her/him up. For example, will they be there for you when your dog is 2 and ate a stomach full of stuff that can make them sick at 2 in the morning? My dog just did and the only resource I have is YT.

It's really just food for thought and the issue here is puppy mills and the careless breeders. I pray your puppy is a healthy one and never ever has issues, major or minor. Really these people you bought from show all the classic signs of being bad bad puppy mills. I wish you good luck and I hope you keep us updated.

I agree with the others, your puppy may turn out well and be healthy, however, its parents may be living in very poor conditions. I don't know if you have ever read about puppy mills, but they exist, and these dogs are bred over and over until the die. I won't go into the gory details, I don't want to upset you, but I just think it's important for every pet owner who loves a dog to educate themselves on how these dogs are bred, and the problems they face. You can't really love something unless you learn about it and become an advocate for them. My problem is people recommending breeders when they have not checked out the home or kennel. Every breeder "acts" sweet and concerned, you need to see this for yourself. Do not take anyone's word for it. The only reason these mills exist is the puppy buying public either doesn't care about the breeding dogs, or they believe the millers when they say that their dogs are kept in excellent conditions.

You are all right - I do not know much about puppy mills and it is not something I had ever thought about it. I am fortunate that my puppy is healthy, for now, and I appreciate all of your concerns. I am going to look into them more and try to edcuate myself further because as a new yorkie lover, that kind of stuff certainly does sicken me.

Please make plans to spay your puppy so that the breeding cycle will be stopped. I don't know what "papers" you were sent but these commercial puppymills often use places like ACA, APRI which are not worth the paper they are printed on. If she is not AKC, I would not bother to send in the registration. It would just be putting more money in the hands of a for profit registry that was stated by puppymills, those that were thrown out of AKC, and those unwilling to comply with simple rules established to protect pups by the AKC.
