Looking for a breeder in Houston

I bought both of my Yorkies from fancypups.com
I think they are located south of Houston, my spouse went and picked both of them. They were both very clean and healthy other than my male has a luxating patella. It will cost about $1800 to fix and it will probably need to be fixed within the next few months. Have the knees checked and you will get a good puppy.

I just read the guarantee and contract and no where does it say that you have to have the pup vet checked w/in 24 hrs, she recommends that you take them within 48hrs, but its up to the owner. besides I would have my new puppy checked out just to ease my mind and to make sure they don't need anything else.

DO NOT buy from fancypups.com. They are brokers and do not stand behind the puppies they sell. I bought a puppy from them in March 2008; she had a liver shunt - which we flew to TN to have repaired, luxating patella in both back knees, cocidia and giardia. These puppies come from puppy mills and are not healthy. We love our little Lola and have gone to great expense to keep her healthy, and will continue to do so, but you are not getting what you are told by these people. Please buy from a reputable breeder and save yourself alot of expense and heartache!

The best breeder I have ever come across, beautiful babies. Mary Keeling of Pleasant Ridge Kennels in Centerville, about 1.5 hours north of Houston. I have a male puppy of hers and my friend bought a female. Beautiful healthy babies. Pleasant Ridge Kennels in Centerville and her website is Pleasant Ridge Kennels

She has pictures of babies she has sold, her breeders and the babies for sale on the website.

Thank you so much. If I am mean spirited because I was not impressed with their ad for adults and puppies, baby faced yorkies with big eyes, T cup Yorkies, apple headed yorkies, tiny teacup, miniature yorkies, tiny toy yorkies and tiny teacup yorkies so be it.
Then go on to say, Yorkshire Terriers and Maltese for sale in these states and Mexico and the list of states is long. What else is one to think?

At least I did see where they were sold on limited registration.

Never heard of her and I've exhibited yorkies in the Texas area for years......

I don't think that stating facts of what an experienced breeder/exhibitor/handler has gathered from someone's website is mean spirited.....

I went to the website and observed several red flags......

I got our Kaylee from Magdelena at bluebonnet yorkies and I would reccommend her to any one..we were and are very happy with our baby girl. she is well adjusted, healthy and beautiful...Magdelena is also a member of yorkie talk...and she has stayed in contact with us since we have had Kaylee. Kaylee is now 14 months old...and she got a birthday present from Bluebonnet too...they are in San Antonio...check her out..

I posted the personal experience I had with this breeder and her kennel. I don't think whether you have "heard" of her is relevant in any way ?? My post was intended for the member asking about breeders in my area. I can't fathom why would you comment at all ?

Since I, and one of my friends, have a couple of Mary's babies, I believe I am more than qualified to relate the personal experience I have had with her....and I certainly shouldn't have to be attacked by you and your buddy Tegamom1 for doing so !!

You girls should run along now and ignore anything I post, it certainly won't be intended for you. Go hunt yourselves someone else to pick on. Comments like you made in this case are extremely detrimental to those of us on this website who really would like to exchange honest information about our beloved Yorkies.

I am going to contnue to enjoy Yorkie Talk just as I did before this unfortunate exchange amd I am going to share any and all information that I feel is helpful to another Yorkie lover.

Again I reiterate, I said nothing mean spirtied to you at all. Just stating an opinion based on what I observed from her website.
Yes, there are hundreds of breeders in Texas, until recently I lived there and familiar with most of them. However, what I said is that I showed in Texas and hadn't heard of her. However, I'm familiar with every exhibitor/breeder in the TX/OK/NM/AR/MO/LA, pretty much on a first name basis.

FYI most breeder's are familiar with breeders across the country.....So, it's not silly at all.

ok - I need to jump in here regarding a few comments you made.

With the amount of posts that Mardelin has - I wouldn't call her a "lurker". You're the one that's been registered here for quite some time and have very few posts. Mardelin does contribute to this forum on a daily basis, HELPING people. It isn't all about cute pictures. There are people who need help from "experienced" breeders - which she happens to be.

The second comment you made, that I highlighted, was no better than what you complained about in your first statement. I know you felt attacked but it wasn't about you - it was about the breeder you suggested.

After looking at your breeders page, the only thing I would say is that it looks like she has 2 dogs that were Championed by another kennel and that she has approximately 22 dogs listed as "Our Yorkies". Thats' ALOT!

This is a forum and if you post something - someone will always have something to say about it. I'm sorry - that's just the way it is. People do try to help other people on here - in whatever way they can. Some know about breeding, some know about showing, some know about posting pictures.... And if someone asks about where to get a puppy - you are going to have a lot of suggestions and opinions.

BTW - Mardelin & Tegamom1 are/have been in breeding/showing for many years.
