Where are all the Okies at? I haven't been on here in awhile but I moved from Kansas to Oklahoma. I'm getting my new baby this weekend. He's 6 months old and his name is going to be Jasper (huge Twilight fan! haha!). I cannot wait and am so excited! I haven't had a yorkie in about a year since my precious Lucky died and I feel I'm finally ready! So where are the other Okies?? Maybe we could have another playdate?? I hear they finally built a dog park in Tulsa!

Hi Jessica! I live in North Texas, nearly on the OK-TX border. Not sure where in Oklahoma you live though, so I may be too far from you.

Congrats! How long have you lived in OK? I'm from okc and we have the best little boutique here called Paws Around Town, but Tulsa also has a wonderful little store that I also adore called The Dog Dish. Have you been there?

A meetup around Tulsa would be great!

There are lots of nice parks in Tulsa, and two dog parks (according to their website Tulsa Dog Parks - Tulsa Dog Parks Oklahoma Off Leash Dog Parks).

Count me in for the Tulsa meetup! I haven't been to the dog park yet though.

Magsmom--actually I have been to the Dog Dish twice now! I found it online when googling the dog food I wanted to buy. It's a cute little shop and very nice girls that work there.

Good to know there are other Tulsan's here haha!

If anyone knows of a dog owner in the OKC area, I am posting an item on craigslist. A friend of mine had one of these and I thought my dog would love it as much as her yorkies loved hers~ so I went and bought one. It is a Sam's Chair bed that I bought for my baby thinking she would love it and I could reclaim my floor pillows that she took over. No such luck!!! $240 later, she is still on the floor pillows... I am selling it for half of the purchase price, but it is absolutely ADORABLE!!! I'll attach a picture from the company's website and then the picture of mine that I took.
Here are the dimensions if you know someone who might be interested:
Width 29"
Length 27"
Height 15 1/2"

I would list it in the for sale forum, but it would cost a small fortune to ship something that large, so I am sticking to a local deal.

Hello!!

I'm a recent YTer from Stillwater, OK. For those unaware, Stillwater is located about halfway between OKC & Tulsa. Takes me about an hour to reach either city. My husband and I moved up here a year ago for him to begin his Master's program in Public History. He's got one more year before he'll be finished and then I don't know where we will go! I've lived in Oklahoma all my life and love it, so he better not take me too far from home!

I'd definitely be up for a play date sometime, once Chloe's shots are all up-to-date (which will be in about a month). She's really great around the Labrador service dog that lives down the hall from us, but she's never had much chance to play with anyone her own size. She's also too friendly with strangers for her own good!! I may check out the Tulsa dog parks regardless...I'd love to have somewhere special to take Chloe every now and then.

I have a playpen $75 (originally I bought this for around $150).

I also have a black quilted SUV/large truck console carseat from snoozer for $45 (originally around $80).

We are in Stillwater too!!!! We should DEFINITELY meet up! My Bella will be 2 y.o. in April and she is ~4.5 lbs. She LOVES to play.....the fewer at a time the better (large groups overwhelm her), and the quieter the better (she gets very stand-offish with "barky" dogs

...just doesn't like the noise I guess). And she is much too friendly with people for her own good too

. Let me know if you'd be interested. Also, my boyfriend is finishing up his Masters (in Finance...actually MSQFE) this coming May. Is that when your hubby graduates? I guess we should try to do something sooner than later since we'll be moving then most likely

P.S. I'd be interested in a Yorkie / small dog meet up in either OKC or Tulsa too for the record. Has anyone planned one yet? I guess we'd better wait for the weather to get better first if it's going to be outdoors though....
