Central Texas Meetup??
 
I know we've had talk of a Central Texas Meetup for a while now. Judy, do you have any new info on that place that just opened in Waco? I'd love for us to have a huge Texas meetup sometimes soon...if it's somewhere central maybe we can attract members from Dallas, Houston, Austin, and central Texas!

Just wanted to get a thread started with ideas for locations, dates, etc. I miss my Texas YTers and would love to meet those I haven't met yet!

I would certainly be ready for a central Texas meetup! Let's talk about it.

I'll be gone on vacation Aug 1-15. Otherwise, we'll be there!

I think Waco would be great. I could come up and stay with my brother (lol). It would be lots of fun. I will be there if at all possible to fit it in with my Kids schedule.

Austin is also a good option. Yes, I am biased because I live here but as far as travel time for others...Austin is:

3 hrs from Dallas
1/1.5 hr from San Antonio
2.5/3 hrs from Houston

I would love to meet everyone. Hopefully we can get something worked out so a lot of people can make it.

Austin or Waco would be cool! I have wanted to go to a meet up for so long now! Well a little over a year:rolleyes: but it seems like forever!

I vote for Waco, but Austin is an option also.................I am open to any of them as long as I can bring my 3 skin kids:eek: and my maltese along:eek:................No Problem:D:D We should have one soon...............I really want to go that new place in Waco.................is it indoor??:D

Sorry guys! I dropped the ball on this one. :( With my broken ankle, I really don't feel up to hosting a meetup. I will email the lady who owns Dogtopia here in Waco again right now and see what she says now that they are more established and things have settled down from their grand opening.

Anyone who would like to host a central Texas meetup, please feel free to do so. I would love to attend one with Gizmo, I'm just not up to hosting it.

Well I think that settles it then. Since Judy has a broken ankle....we should have it in Waco and one of us can go pick her up and take her to the meet up. I will even volunteer to do it!!!!!

aww..I'm sorry about your ankle :( If you could just get some info on that location and what she has to offer that would be great! I don't think we need anything too organized...just a date, time and location big enough to host us all :D

I sent her an email right after I posted earlier. She was really interested when I contacted her this spring, just very busy getting the business started.

Count me in!! I vote for Austin too bc it's 30 minutes from me...hehe. But i would be open to go to Waco! Would love to meet some YTers and their yorkies.

There was one in Austin last August, I think? It was a lot of fun, but not many people. It was at a doggie boutique on 2nd called ...geez...I can't remember right now. It was a cool place and the owner was nice.

There was a lot of construction in that area too.

That's the last meetup I know of in central Texas, not counting the Houston and Dallas ones of course.

YUMMY that stuff was DELICIOUS!!!!!!! I will bring plenty of iced down water bottles for us and the babies!

Well, I live in Austin - but I vote for Waco - since we've had one in Austin and the attendance was sparce - at the Lofty Dog on second street - I think there were four of us, labrown, luvthecooper, judy in waco, and me!

Have we thought about a date?????

And I will just throw this out there (not for this) but down the road.... if anyone is interested in driving to Van Alstyne - good for TX and OK - Sam's daycare would be happy to host one for us!

We can even have a pool party - they have an in ground pool! Plus a huge play room that is rubber!

We did have a great time though! :thumbup::D I really enjoyed meeting you and the others. :)

I just wish Waco had more dog-oriented places. I'll start some more brainstorming.

I still haven\'t heard back from Dogtopia yet, so I think we need to wait on deciding a date until we do.
