| Which part of Texas are looking at? I have leaved in the Houston/Galveston Area and the Dallas/Fort Worth area. They both have hot summers, but DFW is alot dryer heat and has much colder winter. Houston/Galveston has hot hummid summers with mild/cold winters, plus alot more rain and then you have to worry about hurricans/tropical storms. Houston/Galveston also have huge mesquitos. |

Baytown has huge mesquitos!! My neice and nephew lived there(Chanelview now) I would worry about fire aunts, and snakes, and some of the other pest! but if you are out with them , this should not be a problem! We have a lot from Texas on YT! I would love the warmer weather!!

| It's the Gulf of Mexico! Will you be working here? I'd recommend the Pearland/Friendswood area. It's close to the Gulf, maybe halfway between Galveston and Houston.

| Heartworm! Ticks! Make certain to protect your pet against heartworm and ticks. Really, every state has things to worry about, in Texas probably the heat in summer.

| Clearlake and Kemah are really nice. Try to stay way from the city of Glaveston itself it is not very nice, but there are beaches on the west end of the island that are really nice and you can live on the cannels in lieu of the beach itself. My hubby and I are looking at moving to either Pirates Beach or Jamica Beach (leaved here before and loved it!!!) |

| Dallas heat is nothing compared to Houston's heat. Houston is has a higher hummidy because it so close to the gulf so it seems alot hotter and stuffyer. |

| You will definitely need to keep them on heartworm and flea preventative all year round.

| I can also add that as much as I love to go to Galveston you wouldn't want to live there...not so nice. We go every year to the Rockport area which is about 30 min. for Corpus Christi and we love that area. But as has been said it is HOT and HUMID in the summer. Winters are great though. We live in the DFW area and it has lots to offer but it is about 6 hours from the beach.

| Oh ALL of Texas is just Wonderful!! Texas Friendly!! we're currently near Fort Worth for 2 1/2 yrs now,, (home is North Louisiana aka Paradise) lol,, but just depends on what part of the state you are in,, weather can vary greatly,, coastal you get hurricanes,, West Texas you get drought and wind/sand storms,, North Texas you can get some Winter (ice mostly) and tornadoes,, we've lived and worked all over,, always some good,, some bad,, and Texas IS a rather LARGE state,,,
