Chattanooga, TN - Boarded/Daycare their puppies Has anyone in the Chattanooga area, boarded/daycare their puppies at any facilites in this area? We are going out of town in April and I am trying to find a place where I can keep my puppy. She is 10 mos old now. My vet does offer boarding services, but I am concerned about the lack of attention she may get while there. So I am looking into other options. She is 100% fully house broken - outside - no peepads, so I want to make sure where ever she stays, this will be re-enforced. Thanks for any input.

Yes, we are putting her up at Labby Lane Kennels in Birchwood/Harrison area. They were recommended by Bone Apetite on Fraizer Avenue. They told me that Labby Lane was a little out of the way, but well worth the effort. I have visited the kennel and it is clean and well kept. The owner was vet tech (in a previous life) and so was is her worker. The owner and her husband, had/has a labadore retriever rescue. So they are very much dog people. They have a good schedule for play and potty times, so that was good. Do you board also? Hixson is more convenient for me since I live in Soddy. What's the name of your business and phone number? I may be interested for future reference. Thanks for your interest.

We've never boarded Charlie. We have a friend who keeps him when we go out of town - and repeatedly asks us when we're going somewhere so she can have him for a few days. We're very lucky in that respect. I was interested because I thought it would be neat to give Charlie some company for a few days! When I told my husband, he thought I was crazy, but he knows how sociable Charlie is, so he just laughed. I love Bone Appetit. I only go in occasionally b/c I don't like going downtown with the construction going on, but it's such a neat store. Have you seen the owner's yorkie, Teddy? He's very cute, but old, so he can be a bit grumpy. Interesting to note that my friend who keeps Charlie used to live next door (or were somehow neighbors) to the lady who owns the store. Small world. Hope Labby Lane works out for you. I'll keep it mind...just in case.

I think that when I get back from vacation, I will post a reveiw on Millies stay at Labby Lane. That way anyone that is considering a Kennel in the Chattanooga Area will have knowledge of that Kennel (good or bad). Yes I love Bone Appetit. I never found Teddy to be all that grumpy, but Millie can be grumpy too at her young age of 11 months, so we try to keep her out of the way of other dogs. (never know how she will react to them). There is a dog chew there called Paddy Wacks that Millie is addicted to. So we have to get them frequently. I don't find the construction to be to much of a nuisance.

| I'm so glad to hear you guys love the store! it's such a joy for me to work there and always have my two (sometimes all three!) furbabies with me everyday. And it's nice to see more Chattanooga people on the forum!

I did visit, you are right...its in the most perfect setting, the kennel and grounds are spotless, the owners are nice, professional...but Im still worried, because Lilly Belle is so small, even in the small dog room, shes a "dot" compared to the other dogs...so Im just unsure! I would like it if her crate was in the office with the "cats" then she would only be about half their size.

How big is Lilly Belle? Because Millie is only 5 lbs and she did fine with Niki who is a schaunzer 3 x as big as her and the other small dog that was in there with her. But if you express your concerns to the owner, I know she will reassure you or accomdate you so that you are less worried.

I did go back to Labby Lane a couple days ago, you are so right. Pam, the owner was so reassuring and really knows ALOT about dogs, Yorkies included. She did put my mind at ease, we let Lilly Belle run around and took her outside to run around, a member from my church, just happened to stop by to leave her dog for grooming, she told me that its such a wonderful place, she wouldnt take her dog anywhere else, I believe she has become friends with the owners. The last time I went was on a Saturday, there were tons of dogs, (some barking), and they were so busy w/grooming. Anyway, I did set the dates for Lilly Belle to stay there in June.
