| Here is info on one of the meets coming up (really hope the poster doesnt mind me using this as an example - if so I am very sorry) This is pricing on ANOTHER meet up - not the Florida Meet up... using this to make my point, thats all. _____________________ REGISTRATION There will be a non-refundable (unless the meetup is cancelled) and non-transferable registration fee for each person attending the meetup. Registration perks include: Dinner on Saturday, July 18th, a fabulous goodie bag full of fun extras, and exclusive access to the 2009 YT Meetup Talk forum! The first 20 people to pay their Registration Fees will receive 5 FREE raffle tickets (a $10 value)! Fees and Schedule - $75 per person if paid by January 1st - $85 per person if paid January 2nd - April 15th - $95 per person if paid by April 16th - May 15th - $105 per person if paid May 16th – June 1st __________________________________________________ _______ My point - all meetups require an RSVP deposit for very obvious reasons. This one cant be any different. We arent asking 100 - 150 dollars. We are merely asking for you to SHOW you are coming by having SOMETHING invested. Thanks! xoxo ~ Mikaela Last edited by Little One; 04-25-2009 at 05:34 AM. |

| I am with you there. I think 20 dollars is a fair amount to ask.... Would you all be able to do that? |

| One more thing!!! I posted the email address thinking others would know gmail.com. I was wrong and I apologize. So here is the MEET UP CONTACT EMAIL like I should have written it! smallbreedmeet@gmail.com.... NOT @GOOGLE. I have four boys (from 8 to 21) that distract me to no end! lol Last edited by Little One; 04-25-2009 at 05:57 AM. |

| So are we asking $20 per person? or $20 per YTer? Also does this mean that people that offer to take something don't any more or do they still? I apologize for the "not so smart" questions, but it's my first meet-up.

| $20.00 per person, as all other meets require. At a mere 20.00 bux - 5 get in for what ONE would get into most meets for. So not really any room to sway here because we are already asking SO LITTLE. You may bring what you would like but I have Help that lives in my home to do ALL THE WORK. The event would be catered - should it actually happen. On a private lot - enclosed in a HUGE screen lania with a pool - one and a half acres and a lake to play in. I dont think many other meets can offer A PRIVATE TOILET! PRICELESS! Hell, I'd pay 20 dollars for that alone. If My husband and I RSVP'ed it would be 40.00 - two people. Considering the location - food and safety - AT A PRIVATE LOCATION WHERE NO OTHER DOGS CAN COME - 20 dollars is A SICK STEAL OF A DEAL. Anyone not willing to pay that measly amount had/have no intentions on coming anyway, thats why ITS REQUIRED!!! Thats the ENTIRE point behind the RSVP registration fee - ensuring my Help isnt working just for no one to show. Last edited by Little One; 04-25-2009 at 06:44 AM. |

| I think your house looks amazing Mikaela! Again, thanks for volunteering it, we'll really appreciate it! I like the idea of a deposit! It would help cover costs and get a good head count of who will be attending. That said, I think as a group we need to voice what we do and do not want at our meet-up. Once we've established that then I think we can consider how far a deposit would need to go! FYI, the meet-up that those registration fees is for the 2009 International Yorkie Talk Meet-up in Virginia.

| Im simply trying to help... doing all I can to make this come into fruition. But what Im NOT WILLING TO DO is plan an event at my home - consuming an entire day I could be on the water with my family - with NO show of good faith that anyone is even coming. Bottom Line. If that sounds Ugly - Im sorry. People here know me and visit my home regularly. I dont have to defend myself or my feelings toward this because I know in my heart how I mean these words as does anyone here that knows me. Im a good ol southern girl that calls it like she sees it - without hesitation. I see the unwillingness to chip in a 20 as offensive and uncooperative. Just as some of you will find this to be the same. WELCOME TO THE INTERNET! But as all will attest - I wouldnt say a single thing here... I wouldnt say straight to anyones face. True blue with child like honesty and I stopped apologizing for it 20 yrs ago. lol But this is getting far too out of hand. It isnt even fun anymore. Its stress - confusion and pressure. It shouldnt be that way. Last edited by Little One; 04-25-2009 at 11:47 AM. |

| I'm really sorry you're feeling the way you are Mikaela! I know how hard you've worked on this, the time and effort in trying to make this meet-up happen and for it to turn out well! ![]() In the end, even though this was all done to be a fun day with fellow YT'ers and their yorkies, we need enough people that truly care in order to make this all happen. How many of you are really interested in this?

You are feeling me! All BS aside - WHO IS COMING? Thats my issue - a lot of talk but no action. We need to establish whom - if ANYONE - is even into this thing? Im not seeing an interest to be very honest! That being said - the 20 bux becomes even MORE important - TO ME- as the host. Last edited by Little One; 04-25-2009 at 12:38 PM. | |

| Hi everyone! ![]() So I think it's best to try to start over again with this entire meet-up idea! I've decide to start over again, so I've posted another thread seeing who would be interested in coming. I also tested my skills (yay it worked!) and made a poll to go along with it! (I hate making several threads about the same topic but in this case I think it's needed.) So, if you're still interested feel free to go there and voice your interest (or disinterest). Fresh Start, Take 2: FL Meet-Up? All the same, have a great day! -Vicky

| Would it be easier to meet at a beach or something?? It seems LittleOne is getting to stressed over this. I don't want anyone to go above and beyond when were simply meeting.

| Administrator | Please note that charging for meetups is not allowed here at YorkieTalk unless approved in advance by YorkieTalk. Members are free to arrange or host any Yorkie meetups they would like. All members are free to go or not go to such a meetup. However, YorkieTalk does not allow members to charge for meetups they host. The YorkieTalk International Meetup consists of renting an actual ballroom in a hotel room, includes food, and was arranged and created with the help of YorkieTalk members.
