Florida Meet-Up
 
I was looking at the thread with which state has the most active YT members and FL is in the lead! We really should plan a meet-up! The weather is starting to get nice, well hot, and I think it would be great fun. I would be willing to coordinate, if all you interested members would make a location suggestion!!

Whatcha think? :D

I'm in!! Technically I'm in south south south Georiga but only 20 mins from Florida border so I would love to go to a "central' meetup!!

We got Jasmine in Valdosta, we are 1 1/2 hours south/east.

What would be an ideal meeting spot? Me and Carsou are in Tampa-ish. Valdosta is 3.5 hours away from Tampa. Miami is 4 hours from Tampa. Seems that Tampa or somewhere near here would be ideal.... Thoughts?

Tampa area works for me!! Is there a doggy beach or park we can meet at??

We would be TOTALLY in for a meet-up! We're in Tallahassee, but would be willing to drive to the Tampa area if that's where it will be held! (On a weekend though, as starting in May I'll actually be working in Thomasville, GA during the week.)

We just want a chance to meet all of you fellow Florida YT'ers and of course your Yorkies!

I don't know if we can make the drive to Tampa in one day. Almost 10 hours of driving. Maybe my family and I can stay over.

I think we'll probably stay over as well!! We can search for dog friendly hotels!! And I agree it would be nice to be on a weekend

I'm still in.. What kind of dates are you looking at?? I'm thinking maybe a saturday afternoon/evening to allow travel time and check ins for hotels..??

A Saturday or Sunday would be perfect for us! Since money's tight, I doubt we'll stay at a hotel. That said I'm going to try to make a weekend of it, stay with my boyfriend's family in Crystal River, and the day we meet just make the hour+ drive to Tampa or Orlando (assuming that's where it's being held).

I'm excited about getting to meet all of you!

What about the weekend of June 19th? We could meet up on a Saturday or Sunday (whatever would be easier for the majority). I think we should all meet up and make a fun day of it!!! :)

Oh fun! Put me down as a maybe. I'll be watching for the exact date and place. We had one last year and it was so fun and we had a good turnout. We had it just outside of Orlando but it seemed like there were lots of members from the Tampa area. I live in NW Georgia, but I will be in Orlando May 1 - 8 for a Blackberry Convention with hubby. Unfortunately I will be Yorkieless -- but if the meetup is during the first week in May, I'lldo my best to participate :)

Yes - thats an issue too. No where near that week would work out as Fathers Day is the 21st. We want a huge turn out - right?

I would think people would be with their Fathers/Husbands (so the kids would be with Dad) rather than a Yorkie meet. :thumbup:

If we are looking at June, what about the first weekend 5,6,7? It can get really hot if we leave it for a later month.Would May be to soon to make arrangements?
My weeding anniversary is on the 17th, but have no plans, unless DH does;)
