| ![]() My Yorkie's name is D'ogee (D O G) and he is 6 months old and we are having an issue with him waking up in the middle of the night barking. For the first few months after I got him he slept in my room with me but in his crate. About 3 weeks ago I moved him into the living room to sleep. He did fine the first few nights but now he wakes up between 4 and 5 am every night BARKING. When he was in my room he would whine but never bark but know he barks loudly until I come out. I usually yelll for him to lay down from my room and he stops for a few minutes then he's BARKING again..Please help! Msisom aka D'ogee's Mom |

| ![]() You could try moving him back to your room. Maybe he just misses being close to you. I read recently on a training site that *any* attention you give them will only feed their behavior. You might try not responding at all to his barking - just let him bark until he can't bark no more ![]() I need to follow my own advice. Daisy never pees at night, but she wants to get up several times. I have a hard time letting her whine because it's easier on my heart to get up, take her to NOT pee, and put her back in. |

| ![]() He might have to potty. Our little guy doesn't make a peep till about 6:30. At that time he starts to bark....we thought he just wanted attention and he pooped in his crate. so now we know that when he barks it means i can't hold it anymore. pppppllllleeeeaaaassssseeeeee let me out so i can go potty.

| ![]() Jennifer, Thanks for the advice. My neighbors can't hear him barking now but I am about to get a roommate who get upset if he barks all night. I may just have to move him back to my room but I don't want to because he wakes up at any little thing. If I move, he wakes up. This may seem cruel but I had to cover his crate with a towel so he can't see me because that is the only way he will sleep. |
