I will be in Orlando for two weeks of training for my new job at the end of August and am looking for something fun to do on the weekend. Can anyone in the Florida/Orlando area recommend some fun things to see/do other than the usual amusement parks? Thanks

I live in Orl. I'd suggest you go to Gatorland, it's a park that conserves local wildlife. There's also a gaggle of museums on Princeton St., about 4 miles from downtown...the Folk Art, Science and other Museums. Going to Disney Downtown is FREE as well as Universal citywalk (except parking for the latter although if you see a movie you'll be reimbursed) By far my favorite thing to do this time of year is a park, though, called Wet N Wild. When you see how hot it is here you'll see why. There's a lazy river, a wave pool, a children's pool... And definately golf if you like golf. Depending on your skill level, you can find a course that's right for you. It all depends on what kind of stuff you like to do.
