Yorkie Lover Donating Member | Age groups??? I have really noticed lately that there have been alot of new younger members...those under the age of 26...I have found that knowing that there are other members in my age range very comforting...they know more where I am in life and what I am going through...I was thinking that we could maybe have a forum for those in different age ranges to help new members identify with members of the same age...maybe this is not a good idea but it occurred to me that it might work and thought I would say something...let me know what you think!!! Please good and bad feedback....(just be nice)

| Hey Kristin I do think it is a nice idea, but on the other hand, my friend Sue (that I met on YT) would not be in my age range. And how would you propose to make the cut offs? tweens, teens, 20s 30s 40s 50s 60s etc?

| So what's wrong with people under the age of 26? Why 26 and not 20, 25, 30...? I'm 23...does that make me too 'young' to own a yorkie or particiate on this site with anyone older than me? LOL.

Yorkie Lover Donating Member | I am not sure what kind of cut offs it would be, but just because they are age ranges does not mean you can't talk to other who are older...I love hearing from the older members as they have more experience than me...when I said the age 26 that was just a suggestions, I am 21 and tend to relate best to those that are also in their 20s...but that is me and everyone is entailed to how they feel....

Donating YT 14K Club Member | Hi! I can't say that I would like this idea. Why wouldn't a 20 ish person mingle and chat with a 60 ish person? We're like one big melting pot. I don't like the idea that I would only be able to chat with 30 ish people. I respect the ones that are older than me and younger just the same.

Yorkie Lover Donating Member | I am not in anyway suggesting that we only be able to talk within our age group...I just think it could be a separate place to go and talk...

| I think Kristin means a place like the regional forums where there are different sections for different geographic areas.

| No age I think that I like it better with not having age groups. I am in my middle 50's and yet have met alot of friends here at YT that may have been put off by my age if they had known it. I would rather make friends based on interests and personalities, not age. JMHO |

| I think that would be a good idea. I know what you mean! A seperate little place like Regional Forums. It would be up to the person if they wanted to post in there, too or not. There is a big difference in the mentality of a 20 year and a 60 year old. I think they talk about different things and aren't worried with things such as high school/college/etc. and are definately much more wise. I love talking with all sorts of age groups on the main forum, I learn so much but it'd be cool too if there was a place with only 20 years olds, or what not I wouldn't be with ya on it if you mean the whole entire forum, but I don't think that's what you're talking about! |
