| Breeding section I think there ought to be a "stickie" in the breeding secion for those who have lost their girls when breeding. So many want to breed their yorkie once. Many come here, want to start breeding. Breeding certainly isn't for everyone. You can tell a person they can loose the female that way all you want to, but unless they see it, its hard to believe it could happen to them. I feel if there is a stickie on the top of the breeding section with post from those who have lost their girls, it will help others make that decisions if they are willing to loose thier girl, (bitch if you want to call them that) through breeding. Many like me, got a female for the "intent" of breeding. Since I've seen 3 people loose their girls in less than 2 weeks, I've certainly changed my mind about wanting to breed. Maybe a stickie named "in memory of Moms lost in childbirth"??? I dunno what to call it. I also feel the females that lost their life in birthing, need that spot for a tribute too!! Folks that lost their females breeding can put a post there, as a tribute to the girl. |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | You know - Back when my vet first met Chanel he was really taken with her - he told me that he would be happy to help me if I choose to breed her and would I consider it ...went on about great temperment ...cute face - cute body etc - I was kind of flattered ....but since she was so young I really hadn't thought of it - he said - "well - now's the time to START thinking about it...because you'll have to make a decision soon"...(spay or not to spay) as we talked - the Question I've always remembered and the reason I do NOT breed her and I quote directly.... Are you prepared to lose her if something goes wrong ? One Simple Question. One Simple Answer. NO. I never was and never will be 'prepared' to lose her and people NEED TO HEAR that up front -..... So.......GOOD Post |

| I was just thinking about this. I have seen this happen time and time again. I especially see people breeding that really don't have any business doing so. I think you need to do alot of research and be well educated about breeding before even considering it. So this is a great topic. |

| Yes, but too there are a lot of good, experienced breeders on here that have lost their females too. I just feel a section in breeding that stays....a tribue section would be great for them. |

| I too think it's a nice idea and a wonderful tribute to the Mommy's who have been lost. I have been there. Although I don't talk about it much these days because I'm coming up on the one year anniversary of losing my beloved girl, here are the threads to explain it, as I am no longer able to actually write about it anymore. I love talking about her, but I just haven't been able to bring myself to terms with it to this day. If her story could help just ONE PERSON then that would make me very happy. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sho...acy+rio+thread http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sho...acy+rio+thread Last edited by ButterflyYorkie; 11-13-2006 at 09:13 PM. |

My thoughts are with you and I hope Admin does a sticky. Perhaps some comfort will be found knowing some little female might have a better chance as people will be better educated as to what to look for. After reading your threads you did everything possible for little Rio, I’m just so sorry for your loss………

| What a wonderful idea! It would be nice to be able to remember them and how precious they are ... just because they didn't make it, doesn't mean that they "never were"! I know that those who have lost these little Mommies have wonderful memories and their lives are so much richer for having known these precious little ones. I think it's very important to honor them! Great idea, Bnot!!

| Oh Lord, butterflyorkie....I had to go get a kleenex, and wipe my eyes and blow my nose before I could type a response, after clicking on one of the post. I'm so sorry, and can see how that broke your heart in 1/2. Its certainly why I decided NOT to breed. I just couldn't handle that, without a trip to the hospital for ME. I still say we need that section as a stickie in the breeding section. I know there are lots of yorkie mommies this has happened to, by reputable, experienced breeders. |
