| Posting puppies for sale It has come up a couple of times in the past few weeks that puppies have been posted for sale by people who joined YT and their first post was puppies for sale. The thread fell apart from there as the posters were not quite where people should or would perhaps be buying from. I, along with a few others, have wondered if perhaps it might be an idea before someone can post their puppies or dogs for sale, that the poster must have a minimum number of posts and perhaps been a member for a certain period of time, say 60 days. It might also be an idea to require that the poster list how many breeds they have and if they are a breeder or broker. It is easy enough to find out if someone is not much on the up and up. Then it is up to the buyer if they wish to deal with this person but the buyer will be buying a little more informed. There can be exceptions of course, such as rescues or if someone has a pet they can't keep for any reason and need to rehome. That so far has worked well on this forum. What do you all think? |

| What about limiting "dogs for sale" posts to CONTRIBUTING MEMBERS ONLY. That might help the problem. |

| I think it would be good for potential buyers to know that information. That's a good idea. Maybe update the listing information?

| These are great ideas. I posted the thread for the purpose of getting input from the members of YT and hope more will find it and voice their opinion either way. |

| Maybe he would reconsider it. There have been alot of posts with incomplete information that have had to be deleted lately

| When I read through the Puppies for Sale threads I don't pay them much attention if I see it's one of their first posts. And I've noticed that some of the more senior members have a tendency to "initiate" them. I think some restrictions would be a good thing! We take our yorkies very seriously here!

| Just found this thread through another... My suggestion is that people should have to introduce themselves first and then have a certain amount of posts accumulated before they can post in the For Sale section?? That way people arent just signing on her for "free advertising"..just my two cents.. Dawn |

| I am so glad you started this thread! I too have been amazed at the people that have "come out of the woodwork" to post puppies for sale on here in the past few weeks. People that are obviously, not reputable breeders by any means. It has made me sooooo angry and I'm afraid what I would like to do to these people that abuse (and the way they breed is abuse) these dogs of ALL breeds is NOT very spiritual.. There has to be a way, length of time, number of post, complete a questionnaire for approval, .....something needs to be done! I really appreciate the members on here that care so much and keep a close eye on things that are posted.

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | I think the FOR SALE THREADS Bring in possible contributing members and they may not want to detour from that - but...what about a RULE that you MUST put it in your ad if you are a broker or sell multiple breeds (A big Red Flag) if a person is found to be a broker without them stating it in their for sale thread - BAN THEM and put up a warning to all the people looking at the end of their thread - I know being banned isn't really that big a deal cause ex-members are on here all the time using different names - but the brokers out there are just using this place as free advertising. I just can't believe all the people breeding for profit or plain jumping in as middlemen these days - it's sickening for the dogs - these people really suck ! |

nice idea ...but people LIE. We just had members (or I should say EX Members) on here this week lying their butts off - it's too easy to be someone you aren't on the net. ps...LORRAINE - GREAT thread - I hope things change too - though YT people are pretty good at exposing lots of these hinky FOR Sale Ads.
