| The page per day calendar is a terrific idea but will be near impossible to make for a small quantity. Hi I'm Corinne and I work for a commercial printing company! In order to create a page per day, you have to have 365 pages for the calendar. The pages has to be collated which in it's self is expensive procedure not to mention printing the pages. I don't mean to rain on your great idea but a 12 or 14 month calendar would be much more of a cost savings and more profit for the YT donations. Let's face it someone has to put the money up front to pay for the printing. But!!! We can create a calendar with several 2" x 2" pictures per page and even have our pups in the special date boxes like Sundays and Holidays. Ok, I know someone going to say birthdays so here's my take on it - it would be a nightmare for the person designing it to put the right picture in the right date not to mention multiple yorkies with the same birth day.

| This picture may not be calendar worthy but it could help get the ball rolling. Feel free to use it if you need too. |

LOVE this photo!!! It would be perfect for September - back to school. I like the idea of photos on weekends and holidays as well as the main pages.

| Does any one have any idea on cost? How many to Print up? We could sell the space in the calendars for so much and hopefully when it starts rolling in, it would be enough to get things going?? I'm not sure how yt is owned, etc or yt inself could sell the space, and help foot the initial cost since all calendar money from the selling would be theres (like a fund raiser) We could post something in general section about the calendar selling the space. See how many people are interest. Say like all money has to be in by a certain date. Then decide from there what form the calendar will take based on the number of people and pictures that we have. This is just a thought. ADMINISTRATION: WHAT IS YOUR THOUGHT????? In the Yorkies stuff for sale section we could post the calendar and sell it there for other people to buy. When it is finished or we could just take orders first after we get thing going Last edited by DENISE517; 06-15-2006 at 07:28 AM. |

| I'm a graphic designer.. I might be able to help out - I'd LOVE to get Oscar in on it too!!! And I'd totally buy one! The best way to 'get the ball rolling' IMO is to contact printers and get quotes for printing, quantities, etc. Things like glossy or matte paper stock, how it's bound, bleeds, etc will all affect the cost of printing so they are good to decide beforehand. Get quotes and nail down what you will do BEFORE you start selecting photos. That's the dirty work - the fun part is finding pictures. Once you determine what you will do, you can break the cost down and find out what you need to charge per calendar in order to cover your costs, and make YT some money. Another thought.. you could just have people submit photos of their dogs to the committee, who would then decide what pictures would go in (they're the ones doing the work, I think they can decide). Depending on how many people submit a picture, you may even be able to use them all if you decide to do the collage style pages. Maybe don't tell people if their picture made it or not - Maybe they have to purchase the calendar to see if their picture made it or where it is in the calendar? Just an idea... You could also have people vote on them if you wanted to, but it could get difficult with the number of pictures being submitted. I would also try to limit the number of entries by saying a maximum of 1 or 2 pictures per dog (not per owner, per DOG). But only one picture per dog can appear in the calendar....
