I donated yesterday. I figure Admin is pretty busy so when he is able he will process all of the donations that came in over the weekend. :)

Avatar size changes
 
I am not sure if this is correct--someone will tell me if not--but several people have mentioned about their avatar size not changing after making a donation. It is not going to change unless you resize it and resubmit it--I think! I had to remove my old avatar and replace it with another one (V made them both!!!--thanks V).

When you Donate You can Make or have some one make your new Avatar (Thank you V)

After Admin gets your donation you will see Donating member under your screen name. You can also change the little saying Like mine says.
mom 2 kodi & daisy mae. to do that you need to PM Admin and let them know what you want. you may have to have xxxx number of post befor that I am not sure.

I'd love to donate sometime soon, but how am I suppose to know for sure that the money is being used for the Web Site only?:cool:

That's a good question. I just know that running a website of this size costs a great deal of money. You have to pay fees for this much space for all of the posts, photos, videos, etc... Anyone who has a website can tell you about that. The moderators do what they do as a public service, and I can't even imagine the number of hours that go into that. I also know that I want this site to always be available to those yorkie owners in need. By donating, I feel that I am helping in some small way to keep this community up and running. You should never feel that you have to donate. Hopefully, at some point you will feel that you just want to donate. :)

We've run YorkieTalk for over four years now and the expenses keep rising every year because of the popularity of this community. We've gone through four different servers, and we have had to use several administrators, many moderators, database technicians, server admins, and computer experts to help us along. The computer hardware needs to be updated frequently, and we do have to pay for the costs of the server and for Internet bandwidth. All that is unfortunately not free.

Good for you! Look up at the top of your screen. Do you see the cute little yorkie face? Look where it says YorkieTalk.com beside it. Find the letter "r" and look right under it. See the word "donations" there? Click on that word and voila!!

We love this site and never thought I would donate to a internet forum but I have learned a lot since I joined and me thinks we are making new friends. :p Plus needless to say - I'm addicted. Now I have to learn to size my pics of Izzy to start posting cool pics of her. :eek:

I just donated (again - did so several years ago) because this not only gives everyone a place to share their common delights, it also gives support through frustrations and sadness. It provides a public service in helping create better behaved, healthier furkids, and saner parents. It saves pups from bad situations whether it's simple unfortunate circumstances or abuse by providing information and finding homes. It unites people to common causes which is VERY powerful. Thank you YorkieTalk.

You send a private message to Admin and he will give you all the instructions.
You probably saw the SuperMan avatar since he posted a couple posts before yours....click on that and there will be a drop down menu and click on private message to admin. or you can always go to members list that is on the blue line at the top of the page near FAQ and User CP.
