I'm not getting this donate thing, I'm looking for some type of form to sign to donate directly to yorkie talk without using paypal but I can't find one, can someone tell me how to donate to yorkietalk using my mastercard without going through paypal, or sending off a check?

I *think* if I'm not mistaken that you can only use Paypal, but hopefully Admin will see your post and let you know :) Good luck!

you can send a check but what you have to do is contact admin for the maiing adddress.

When I was new to YT, I was also new to paypal, etc... and I sent a pm to ADMIN and asked to send a money order. Admin replied and gave me an address to mail it to.

It takes longer to go through that way, and I got a little antsy waiting, but it worked. :)

Hi, I am sorry if this has already been explained, but I am new (ok, little one just corrected me...she said it should say WE are new :D ) and would like to make a donation. I saw where you use paypal (which I have) and you send an email, but what exactly do you do? Do you send them an email and say I would like to donate? What information do you send in the email? AHH!! :confused: hehe, sorry...I am so confused. :p

I just donated today so I think I can help :) If you use Paypal, put the email address there to make the payment (the yorkietalk account), and it'll give you the option of also sending a message with the payment. Put your username in the message so they know who you are!

Has anyone ever had an issue with donating before? I mean I love yorkie talk and wouldnt mind sending some money to help run it, but i can't help but feel like there is a ton of money being made. I have seen them do great things with this money, sending gifts to members who lost a loved one, but what if you just dont have the money? I wanted to post some garage sale stuff because we are going through a very hard time ( i was layed off) and now i see i must pay 25 to do so. 25 dollars is a few meals for us. I could give 5-10, but why do they demand a certain amount?

I don't really think there is a TON of money being made. Do you have any idea how much it cost to run a site like this that takes up so much bandwith.. quite a bit.

If you don't have the money, then you just don't donate right now. I do believe you can donate smaller amts, but you don't get the privilages of a donating member until you've donated $25.

Yeah I am no accusing, just asking. I guess i just feel like they are transforming this into a paid members site, with the free aspects of it shrinking more and more. I can see asking for a donation to participate, but not demanding a certain amount.

Thank you for your feedback. YorkieTalk is free for all members to ask questions, get answers, search, post pictures, share videos, and browse. However, after extensive talks with many of our Donating Members, who help YorkieTalk with fees and costs associated with running this community, we feel it is unfair for those that are not yet Donating Members to be allowed sell items in our community.

We feel $25 is a fair amount for the benefits it gives, such as being able to participate in YorkieTalk Gift Exchanges as well as being able to sell items on YorkieTalk. Again, donating is completely optional. No one is required to donate to post questions, search threads, or view our archives.

For value received $25.00 is not much $$. Where can you have access to help, friends, and be able to sell items for one small lifetime fee of $25.00. I sincerely feel like I get back much more than $25.00 worth of entertainment daily.

I know that I have gotten WAYYYYY more than my $25.00 from YT! I dont have anything to sell, but just helping to keep this site running is enough for me! It is WELL worth it to me...

Yes, if you so choose to donate and not have that option under your name, that is fine. However, you would not be able to participate in the YorkieTalk Gift Exchanges or sell any Yorkie products here on YT, since we believe it may confuse other members who may not know that you did in fact donate. But that is perfectly fine by us if that is what you would like to do. It would be considered an "anonymous" donation. Thank you.
