| Required donation? I haven't been on here in a few days and was about to sign up Mia & Max when I read that to participate you have to have donated at least $20/dog to YT - if I'm reading this correctly. I understand there are some type of 'perks' to donating, but I donated to another site and in the end it was a bad situation (not saying that this is AT ALL!!) For some, the 'perks' aren't really 'perks' as they wouldn't take advantage of or use them. I totally understand the frustration caused by people that did not send out their gifts, but for people who have repeatedly participated and sent out, it seems a bit much. I know I'm not alone in having sent out 5 gifts in 3 different exchanges - kind of feels we just aren't trusted despite our track records. I'm sure for some who have participated in the past the money issue is now a problem, and that's sad. I wish we could have had much further notice of this so that some people could have had a longer time to get the money together (essentially double for this one by the time you pay your 'fee', buy gifts and ship). This is not intended to slam Admin. They do a great job and I totally understand their point. It was just a seemingly rather sudden occurence. I'm not sure I'll be in this one, but it has NOTHING to do with the 'fee'. I may be gone for an extended period of time around then and not sure I could mail. Hopefully I'll know before the deadline. |

Donating YT 10K Club Member | Actually the policy change occurred a few weeks or a month or so ago....it's been awhile though. It didn't "just" happen. And donating once ensures someone can participate in the next exchange....even if the donations occur over a period of months.

| Yes, I agree it is hard for some of us that have not yet donated but have been in other YT gift exchanges and sent out our gifts and followed the rules. In the last exchange I spent a lot of time and money for our buddy who was a donating member and never even got a thank you post which is a requirement in the exchange. I hope to donate soon so I can be a part of ones in the future. |

| I think it is a good way of ensuring everyone is serious and will send a gift. It is a shame from my point of view though because I was really looking forward to participating in this next one but because I live in New Zealand it would just be too expensive for me. A donation, a gift and the cost of postage for a gift is just too much right now. It looks like a lot of fun though so I hope eveyone posts pics of their pressies!! |
