Almost funny I just can't believe how many people come on this board seeking advice when they start looking for a dog then TOTALLY ignore everything that everyone says and rush out to get the first one that comes along. They end up with a too young, not so Yorkielike, unhealthy or problem Yorkie and come back asking for more advice. I am sort of chuckling when I type this but it keeps happening! Just can't imagine how the breeders (or other busy people) must feel taking their time to educate others. Many long well-thought out, sensitive responses all for nothing. It's driving me crazy and I have no life

| I don't feel any response to anyone's thread is for nothing. It may seem like someone might not listen but I believe they really do. Even if a member never returns I bet they leave w/ the info they have received and take it to heart. I feel all the help here by everyone is soooo important and hope it never ceases. I'm sorry you feel frustrated.

I know what you mean, we live in a must have now world. It was very very hard for me to wait to have my babies come home but so worth it. Waiting months and/or looking for weeks to find a reputable breeders can be so hard for some. Then after you may have many weeks or months before a pup becomes available. It truely is worth the wait to make sure you get your pup from someone who has done everything to make your pup be the healthiest it can be and given the best care they can give. Its to easy to just run out to the nearest petstore. Sometimes you can find a reputable breeder that has pups available it just takes time.

I wish I had found this site before getting my baby. The advice received here in invaluable. There are so many educated and caring people. I lucked out in finding my Jeter. My breeder I found by chance on the net, and after speaking with her for weeks she was finally comfortable with me and Jeters age and size. I think you find people who disregard advice in every facet of life, I just hope all of you good people don't give up on us novice yorkie owners who truely value your help.

It is soo true. The only breeders that have Yorkies cheap and now are puppy mills. Sorry to say, good breeders don't have pups every day of the year. The ironic thing is hearing folks say they can afford several hundered dollars. Well buying a Yorkie in that price range is really a gamble, you can get something good or not so good depending on who you buy from. They may have better luck gambling that $600 in Vegas. What is refreshing to see is someone that is doing their homework well in advance, inquiring on pups and then saving the money and waiting until they saved the money to buy that special pup that can be tested for health issues, fully vaccinated, even spayed or neutered. The pup will cost more than $600 for sure. But ask anyone if they could pick what would they rather have?...But many settle for the 2nd choice because it's cheap and they get it now. I get so many emails..first thing they want to know is how much I guess I'll never understand that thought process..
