We do apologize for the slowness last night, as we were upgrading some of the forum software, and instead of completely turning off the site for users, we tried to keep it up while we did our updates.

As far as speed is concerned, our excellent Web host informs us that we have more than enough bandwidth to serve our membership. We have not noticed any speed issues this morning via our informal poll from across the USA (and world), users reported of no slowdowns. We take your feedback very seriously and want to make your YorkieTalk experience a positive one. If you experience slowness, please check to see if you uploading anything (P2P file sharing programs will make your Internet experience slow, even if you have high-speed DSL or cable modem) and that you do not have any type of spyware installed on your computer. Also, there are many computers (routers) the data travels through before YorkieTalk pages are loaded onto your computer, and unfortunately, some of those computers sometimes do bog down. That is beyond our control.

thanks its been better today i know its not my computer 1.its only this site thats slow 2. my brother does computers for his job and he spends 1000,s of dollars on computer parts so its not slow thanks for being concerned

I just also wanted to say how much I have enjoyed this site. I've never been a person to do much with message boards, or chat rooms, etc. I wasn't even sure why I was coming back so often to read. But, I think others have summed it up best when they said that it is nice to go to a place where there are so many others who love their Yorkie as much as you do and love to hear about the first walk, funny groomer story, new shirt, leash, etc. All of my friends and family would go nuts if I didn't have this site to make doggie friends with.

Thanks to YT and all the members for being such a wonderful bunch of folks and doggies!!

Your having browser hangups, slower loading pages mean that your cache & History needs to be clean after you have done that, cold boot(shut down)
log on and you should be ready to go! if you are still having problems then you need to defrag your drive, you can do this when your done for the evening! hope this helps

You know not everyone that is listed as on, is actually on posting. I have cable which is always up (unlike dial up - unless I totally shut the PC down) and if I leave the PC on this page without hitting log out, it looks like I am on here but could be out of the house completely.

i am on here a lot, before and after work and i have never had a problem with it being slow......... are you sure it isnt the servers? or a problem with the internet in youre neigborhood? (i know when i go to my moms home it is really slow as well) also it depends on what programs you have running in teh background ect.... if you have a viruscan program working youre computer is not going to load as fast, and it also depends on how many pages you have up from the internet.......... but.......... like ive said, i have no problem whatsoever since i got my new computer

The same thing happened to me last week and I wasn't even on a dial up. I thought I wouldn't be able to make it through the day! NO YORKIETALK! I was devastated, but later that afternoon I got on, and picked right back up. I don't think it should be limited. Unfortunately, a great site like this will sometimes get bottlenecked by too many users. But, everyone should have the opportunity to use it.

Hi brownies mom have your brother update your memory (ram) You will be amazed how fast your computer loads! aol is such an enhanced program that reguires way to much ram along with your other programs that is drawing off of it! and if you have alot of desktop icons that as well eats memory as well in your system tray. your brother will know how to do this. get at least 120GB or more? more ram faster loading and we all need the speed

I forgot that you mentioned you have a Mac, I am not sure if the same info would apply to mac? My experience is limited to IBM windows systems
