Slow or freezing up
 

Is anyone else having problems on YT?

I've been having problems for about a week. I finally did a restore and defragment hoping that would help but it hasn't.

At first it was just stalling and I'd have to use the back arrow button and then forward but it still had such a long delay in fully loading. Now I can access some threads (like this) but can't access every page in a thread. :confused: Also I have a really hard time accessing my profile page. I can hear the music but the message at the bottom says done with errors. Gez, it took me over 2 hours to do the defragment yesterday. :( I don't seem to have this problem anywhere else.

Yes, I have! I just usually get frustrated and quit. I don't have a problem like this anywhere else on the internet. It does seem better today.

Spoke too soon ... thought my first message would never post! Noticed at the bottom a whole string of info ... can't remember all of it but some of it was "2 items loading" and something about "googleads".

I've had the same thing happening the last few days.

Oh forgot to say that when I hear the music on my profile page - I'm still stuck on whatever page I was on - it didn't go to my profile page. :confused:

Yes - it's been so frustrating that I usually just get off, too.

I've been having those issues too. I thought it was my computer but it does it on any computer I access YT on.

Yes, something had definitely been off here. I clicked on things like CP and got people's blogs. Then, I got some kind of thing telling me how many birthdays were on each day of the month.
And...freezing up constantly.

I have been having this too!! I found if I hit the refresh on my toolbar, it moved to the next screen. I only am having this problem on here. I hope admin brings this to someones attention as I maybe think is a server problem??:confused:

There are times where the YorkieTalk server is slower than normal, during peak hours, but we have not had any major issues that we know of the in past few weeks. In addition to defragging, you may want to check your computer for spyware, Spybot S&D, Ad-aware, and Microsoft Security Essentials are all free programs which you can download and try.

Or you may try the below:

First, log out of YorkieTalk. Then try to clear your Internet cookies and then sign in again, as the problem appears to be related with your browser. Please make sure cookies are enabled on your Internet browser settings. When you sign in, checkbox the Remember Me button.

You can also try to clear your Internet cache files. Here's how to do that:

We suggest members do NOT use the AOL Browser to access YorkieTalk. Internet Explorer or Firefox works much better with our site.

Or you may try another Internet browser, such as Firefox (Firefox web browser | Faster, more secure, & customizable) or Opera (Opera browser | Faster & safer internet | Free download), both which are free.

The missing security token can happen when you let the browser window sit for 15 minutes or more, as the system thinks you are no longer active on the site. Usually, you can refresh the page and then post your thread or reply.

Wow, I guess I'm not the only one having issues on this site lately. Got so frustrated yesterday I just turned it off, and cleaned my closet (which was a good thing to do anyway, haha).

I recently switched to Moxilla Firefox & it's so fast! The smilies, like the little doggy running on bettyeanne's siggy...he's running really fast lol.

I've been having problems receiving emails via hotmail tho. I'll have a new PM on YT, but get the email notice hours later.

Admin, is YT compatible w/Google Chrome?

Yes, YorkieTalk works fine with Google Chrome as well. The Hotmail issue may be on their side, as we have not made any changes to the YT email notification system and the emails come through pretty fast via Gmail.

I use a Windows pc at work and a Macbook at home. The YT slowdown started at the same time on both, is identical on both and it's the only website I'm having problems with.

I had a problem on two of mine over about a two day time period. I deleted cookies on one and not the other and still had problems. Today the problem seems to have resolved itself.

Yes, I was going to post about this very thing. I have written numeros posts only to have yt freeze and lose the post!! :(:(

I thought it was my computer at home,but my work computer is even worse. :(

YT freezes and slows down for me also. I have to close the browser usually.

I was ready to quit from sheer frustration, but downloaded FireFox instead. The site works like a charm now. It appears my problems were with the ads that were trying to load and never quite made it.

At any rate, downloading a new browser helped me a LOT - and not just at this site, either.

I just recovered my puter not too long ago bc it had a virus & was very weary about downloading anything. The site I used to build my website recommends firefox, so I read up on it & it's way better than ie, less viruses.
It made everything better for me.:)

I've used firefox for a couple of years now and usually don't have problems with YT. But the last few days I have had problems and last night was absolutely the worst. Also, it is the only site I've had problems with being so slow, and I know last night it wasn't because of heavy member usage....it was a slow night.

ETA...like right now, it just took 45 seconds for this post to load, normally posting happens almost instantaneously.

I wasn't on last night, so idk, but I'm using firefox & am testing how fast or slow it takes to post...

Same here, I just gave up on most of my attempts last night cause the "loading wheel" on Firefox just kept spinning and spinning, going nowhere.

The wheel of annoyance!!! lol
