I agree that it seems at least partially due to the ads. The page often loads with an error that says something like "google.ads.blahblahblah permission denied." I thought there was either a rogue advertisement or a new browser security computer setting. I recently upgraded to Windows 7 64 bit, and I am still working out some kinks. Even if the ads aren't different, is it possible the code they are using has been updated? |
It hasn't been too bad here lately. I blocked the ads last night and I'm liking that. :) |

Ok, switched computers (both Macs). I was on the newer one. Now I came to the older and did the same adblock thing and it isn't working nearly as well. So that is odd. Maybe my new one is a lot faster than what I had thought.:confused: |
I just spoke with my son...he said he does not believe it is google ads. It would be illegal for them to do anything. He is going to check from his pc when he gets home to see what I am talking about. I want to just stop the ads to see if it helps. If not, then who knows? I just know it is nearly impossible today to post anything. I have restarted my browser at least 15 times and have been asking myself WHY I am doing that. hah Also, YT has been down at least four times that I know of....just dropped. *sigh* Wish I could help fix it. |

That has got to be miserable. Come to think of it, our HP may have done that on YT when I was still using it (a couple weeks ago) and maybe the old Mac also. It would just go down for 5-10 minutes at a time and nothing would make the page change...just had to come back later. |
This is a new computer. I have tried four in my house now with the same results. :( |

I use a brand new mac with safari and I have been having the same problems but fortunately it only has been happening occasionally. I just figured that more people have been on since the launch of the YT mobile and that's why it's going slower. Since it's happening to so many people it's obvious it's the website and not anyone's computer. |
It is the database. Nothing to do with anyone's computer. Hopefully they will find the problem and fix it. |

YES, YES, YES!!!! I've had the same problems and more. It's super SLOW if it even takes me to where I want. Just trying to get to THIS thread took me FOREVER! I didn't think it would even let me in. I usually get a blank page saying "done", or half a page saying "done with errors". I also get logged off when I try to send a PM, thread reply, or visitor reply anything really....I then have to log in again, but I've lost everything I just wrote. I mostly just give up and close it. VERY ANNOYING. |
I have all the spyware and adware and defragged which ADMIN suggested..... the problem is not my computer. I can do anything else with it. Hotmail and google don't even give me problems. :( :( so sad. |
Admin was given that message almost a week ago...so that is not the problem. LadyJane says it is the database..whatever that means:confused: |
I think I am going to give it up and go out and watch the Lyrids. |

We have not changed ad settings in many months. If you are getting waiting messages for ads, it may be the ad server which is somehow lagging. YorkieTalk relies on ads to support our site, as without ads, the YorkieTalk community would not be possible. There are times when YorkieTalk is more active than others and there are many members on at one time. This can overload the server and cause YT to be slower than normal. |

Also, we have been working on the server, the YT database, and have been trying to see how else we can make YT faster these past few days. Some of these things we are testing and fixing may also have slowed YT a bit. Since we do have over 60,000 members and over 3 million posts, some of the optimizations we make may take a while to implement. We are also analyzing our current hardware for YT and trying to determine if we need to upgrade our server or if we need a new server for our community. Thank you for your patience.
