yeah i can't wait. i have TONS of clothes in the closet that morgan doesn't wear. i was thinking of putting them up for sale but then this idea came around. i hope it gets figured out quickly so we can start trading.

I personally think this is a awesome idea, but I think there will need to be catagories,

One for Boys:
One for Girls:
One for puppies:

Since shipping is so expensive it would be rediculas to get a box that had absoluely nothing that you needed and have to pay to pass it on.

Having a puppy you outgrow things all the time and this would be a great catagory for people with growing pups like say 12 weeks to 1 year?? Just a thought, I know I already have clothes, PJ's , Harnesses, tiny bows etc that no longer fit!

I'm curious to know what stage (planning) this is in? The reason I am asking is that we are planning a very small YT meet up in my area in about a month. I've suggested a clothing swap for this meet up but there is a part of me that would like to "hold out" for this particular one as I think there will be more "swapping" going on here....

Wow just seeing this - how exciting Admin and I hope you do it. Izzy has some items almost brand new that she has outgrown and just sitting in our drawer. I'll hold off on selling them to see what happens with this swap.

I was disappointed when this thread came to a halt too.

So I guess I'll be doing what I've always done and just save up my stuff for a future as yet unnamed dog.

And that front-pack Outward Hound carrier thingy I bought last summer while on vacation without my pooch and never used except for the cat rolling on it after it was fitted and then tossed aside--that will be saved for Yodi's visit now--cat hair and all. LOL.

LOL, yes! Wow, we have the same taste! I mean, I think I have the same red santa jammies as you do in your avatar/album, and now with the Outward Hound. Did it look better than it fit for you too?? LOL. The idea seemed great, and I've seen someone using something similar in the mall in the distant past with his larger (than my current girl) dog. But when I fit her in it, it sort of hangs forward even at the lowest setting. I don't know if it's because of my lack of boobs to fill in that gap, but even hubby's bigger man-boobs didn't work out.

Sooo... Yodi being undoubtedly lighter than my girl, I think it would work out for her perfectly! LOLOL *crosses fingers*

That was one of the items I had fully intended to include in the pile of giveaways/trades if this thing went through. Someone else might get better use out of it than myself.

Howdy, all! A few of us have been talking amongst ourselves about setting up a small Virtual Treasure Box after the GE and seeng how it goes. If the "pilot" works, maybe we can extend it! So it will be a few months, at least.

I'm not that into the idea of a trading forum, BUT if other people are interested, I hope someone will come forward and champion the idea!

OMG you crack me up!!! I really don't think it's a boob issue at all...just a poorly designed product...we had the same problem with our baby leaning forward. It actually seems to work better in the back... As for my avatar...those aren't "PJ's"...just my "poor attempt" at trying my hand at sewing matching Christmas outfits for them! ...my avatar is really, really outdated....

I think the only person who has to "champion" the idea is admin. The concept is simple and really only requires a trade sub-forum. The rest is up to participates.

We propose having a separate forum for giving away or trading used Yorkie items. It would work like this: a YT member (Member A) lists an item or several items with a suggested value of the item in a thread. A toy that may be $10 new would perhaps have a $7 value used. Another member (Member B) claims the item and posts in the thread that they want it. Member A ships the item (with a tracking number or delivery confirmation) to Member B within one week's time. Of course this would be based on an honor system for the most part.

We could also offer direct 1 on 1 trading, but we would think it would be more rare to find actual members with things they can directly trade and this method would be more in spirit of the original Gently Used Gift Exchange idea of sharing with others Yorkie goods that they no longer want and don't wish to sell.

We would require members participating to be a YorkieTalk Donating Member (a full Donating Member who has donated $25 or more in combined donations) and members with 200 posts or more. Items must be washed if possible or necessary, items must be listed with any defects or problems, members may choose two or three items per week maximum or a set value limit, and members must adhere to the guidelines/rules of the trading forum. Failure to ship items may result in a suspension or ban of their YorkieTalk account. As with the YT Gift Exchange and the ability to sell Yorkie products on YT, this would be an additional benefit of being a YorkieTalk Donating Member.

Most of this idea and requirements came from current YorkieTalk members and we would like to thank each and everyone who has helped us with this idea. Thank you - you know who you are! We would also like to specifically thank QuickSilver for thinking up the Gently Used Gift Exchange idea initially!

If anything is unclear or if members have other suggestions, please let us know.

What a Fantastic idea!! I think this would be great to have a forum! It would be nice to have pictures of the items and see what everyone else is posting...
