| YT Copy/Paste question Okay...sometimes I ramble on when I'm posting . Occasionally, when I've completed an unusually prolific post, I realize that it should go elsewhere and not pollute the op's thread. Chances are I've rambled way off topic... So, naturally, before posting, I attempt to copy what I've written, and I can't! Beyond posting it, copying it, then hitting edit and deleting the post, is there anyway to copy an unsubmitted post???

| When you're writing it and before you submit, highlight what you want to copy (or cut) out of your message. Then hold down "Control" and push "C" to copy your thread, and then when you go to post your new thread, you can hold down "Control" and push "V" to paste into the new message. Control + X will also work to CUT the part out of the original message. Try doing this in Word a few times before you're on YT, or try it in the test forum until you get used to how it works. Control C or X will only store the LAST thing you copied or cut-so you can't copy just one paragraph, and then try to copy another without pasting the first thing you copied in another place. So, if you need more than one paragraph, copy them all at once. I hope that makes sense and helps!

| Good question and good answer, that's a helpful piece of information for me too. Thanks to both of you. |

| YAY! Glad I could help... Just thought of another shortcut-if you want to copy a WHOLE post, click anywhere in the text of what you want to copy. Hit Control +A to select all, then Control + C to copy it-now you've got the whole thing! Other shortcuts that work in almost all Windows programs: Control + B =Bold text Control + S= Save Control + P= Print Control + U=Underline Control +N = New blank document (like in Word or Powerpoint, etc.) Windows key (2 keys on either side of your space bar) + M= minimizes the window you're working in (great for being on YT while at work, LOL!) I think that's mostly everything. Hope that helps you have fun with keyboard shortcuts! ETA: Also, Control + Z = Undo in many programs too!

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Great tips, but couldn't you still right click, click on "select all" and then "copy," or am I missing something here?

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I'm glad you found something that worked, but another way to do it when you have alread submitted the post is to left click over the words you want, and it will "highlight" them, then you can right click copy. I'm not saying that your way isn't better though.
